Thats the bottom line and bush's brain must be ready to explode. Who are we going to trash next? What dem who happens to be a veteran (there's a shitload of them) needs to be swiftboated? No concern for the country. No concern for our troops. Just win, win, win.

2. The Repubs are scared shitless...
that this will galvanize the general public to turn out any candidate who supports the war i.e., they are afraid that the upcoming election will turn out to be a referendum for Bush and the war in general. The last thing they want. Thus, the hysterical ranting about extreme leftists.

I want to continue to support and defend our constitution against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC. Nothing could be more liberal.

3. Why limit ourselves to veterans?
There are plenty of Dems who suckle at the teat of BushCo. And still more who wield some power and support the war... you know, those who begged the term "DINO" be coined.

4. The thought had crossed my mind
that Bush IS going to lose some of his enablers in the Senate simply because they are Republican hawks.
What better way to make up for the loss than to have a DINO helping to further his agenda?
