What a mean, selfish, bitter little man Joe is....
Listening to and reading snippets of his concession speech last night and some interviews this morning, I am appalled that this man was our VP nominee just a few short years long ago.

What the hell was Gore thinking choosing this guy??!?

Did Lieberman really change a lot since 2000 or was that just a really bad decision?

I admit, I wasn't paying much attention to Joe then so I have no idea how good or bad he was then. I do know that he did sanctimoniously admonish Clinton for the Monica thing and he did refuse to give up his Senate seat to run for VP...That seemed pretty selfish.

Was he always this bad? He did get elected a number of times.

This shit about the Democrats being "antisecurity"? :grr: Good for Wes calling him on that...but what a little freak Joe is!

1. I saw it

and I seriously wondered why the HELL Gore had him as his VP. Maybe Gore would have won by even more votes had he not had Lieberman on the ballot with him (enough to seal it up tight - recounts, hanging chads, etc. being irrelevant might I suggest?)! :grr:

That was Al Gore's big mistake - Joe Lieberman! :puke:

10. I think Gore picked him because of his anti-Clinton rep
My, how the worm turns - I wonder how Lieberman felt about having to ask the "immoral" Bill Clinton to come in and try to pull his butt out of the fire . . .

13. I don't know about that aspect of it
however, it was without a doubt Al Gore's biggest mistake. :(

had he chose a different running mate.

3. Lieberman didn't change, no one paid close attention.
I think that over the next few weeks we are all going to see the real Joe Lieberman!

4. I don't think he changed.
Just a horrible decision by Gore, who picked Holy Joe to distance himself from the "immoral" Clinton.

11. I left the Democratic Party and became a Green
When Gore picked Joe for his running mate. I vote Dem 99% of the time and have NEVER voted for a Republican. I just felt hardcore liberals like myself had been dismissed by the Dems with that choice. I gave money to specific Dems like Wellstone and Harkin ( even though I live in Arizona) but gave very little to the DNC. I hope dems start taking people like me more seriously and our issues very seriously so I can come back into the fold

5. Lieberman almost cried during his speech last night..
if he had some character, he would of conceded. But Lieberman was too bitter and vane to acknowledge defeat. Instead..he will turn to revenge and rage during the remainder of this campaign. But Lord Joe simply can't bare losing his one and only Senate seat.

If Lieberman wins..he'll become another Republican we will have to defeat. If he loses, the worst that could happen is for the Republican candidate to win. But even as the primary victor, Lamont still has the advantage of being the outsider!

6. The first clue was during the Cheney/Lieberman debates
Lieberman bent over backwards to be nice to Cheney and it was more like a discussion, rather then a debate.

7. Lieberman has lost his mind.
He wasn't like this when he ran with Gore, but perhaps the potential was always there and we just didn't see it. Who would have guessed he was itching for war in the Middle East? Sometimes life presents circumstances that illustrate one's true nature, and we have seen Joe's.

I sincerely hope his supporters in CT will snap out of it and do the right thing in November. It is incumbent upon the Dems there to support the nominee - woo-hoo! - democratically elected in the primary.

Joe needs to STFU.

8. Lieberman kept me from voting for Gore in 2000
He wasn't the only reason, but it was a big one.

12. "I will not let this result stand!"
What result, Jojo? Oh, you mean the WILL OF THE DEMOCRATIC VOTERS OF CONNECTICUT. That result.

That quote, and the one about "we criticize the President ... at our peril," will be the bookends to what could have been a great career in the Senate and even possibly beyond.

Joe has missed the point of what America is all about. He's become just like the Pukes, who think it's always all about them. Jojo, I got news for ya: IT'S NOT.

14. Even from as far away as Australia
I could see that Lieberman was a bad choice of running mate in 2000, and I do truly believe that he cost Gore the election. Now he is really starting to show his true colors. He's a sore loser and a war monger.
