This requires a little more research than I have time for but perhaps there are some serious politicos out there who know this info.

2. I would email Reid (NV), Schumer, and Louise Slaughter
IIRC, Slaughter is ranking member of the ethics and rules committee. :)

4. Why?

Doesn't he have the right to stay on the committees until he loses the election and Lamont officially takes his place?

8. I assume he is as long as he's registered as one...
but in any case, he is on Senate committees as a senator, and so should retain those spots even if he switches party to Republican or Independent or whatever he's gonna call himself now.

I'm not in support of the guy, it just seems like a waste of time and activism to try to get him off the committees when his term is not up.

11. Seems like a waste of time and activism to impeach bush too?
People can be removed from committees easier and it seems ok to ask for this since he no longer represents the party or the views with which he was appointed.

15. I'm sorry, is Lieberman a war criminal too?
One thing is breaking the law, another is that you don't approve of his viewpoints. If Lieberman has broken some law or senate rule by going "independent", take him off the committees. Otherwise, there are more important issues, like impeaching Bush.

16. He isn't any more. Article/link here "Conneticut for Lieberman" party
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4776953.stm

His petition received 18,000 signatures, Mr Lieberman's campaign said - more than double the minimum of 7,500. Mr Lieberman has formed a new party for his candidacy, called Connecticut for Lieberman.

7. Not if he campaigns AGAINST a Democratic candidate...
...which he IS doing by running as an "independent"....

As soon as he runs against the party he supposedly represents by definition he should be removed...

9. Indy? Hell! He's formed his own Party!
He may be representing CT for the rest of his term, but you're correct! He's no longer a Democrat.

10. No he does not, he is in those positions because he WAS a democrat
However, since he is NO LONGER a democrat, Harry Reid should assign the seats to whoever is next in line for them or best qualified. Lieberman's role in those seats is to represent the democratic party, which he obviously can no longer do.

14. I emailed Reid this morning
Told him that even though I was not a constituent, I was still a Democrat who voted for Joe twice in 2000. And as Reid is in charge of the Senate Democrats and Lieberman is no longer a Democrat and working against the Democratic Party and the will of the voters in Connecticut, he should be relegated to the sidelines.
