I feel real hope. Here's why. We The People's will has finally born fruit. My new hero is Ned Lamont, a wonderful person who DARED stand up against the warmongering neocon status quo. He didn't just win against Lieberman, he defeated the entire politico/corporate infrastructure of our society, including their whore media. He proved that not just net roots, but REAL GRASS ROOTS have the ability to change our country for the better. I can't help but believe that this is a harbinger of a massive movement to take back the country. No way are we going to back down now, and we will prevail. I just read 1776, and right now, I'm feeling very connected to our American forefathers/mothers. They determined that this country would be free of tyrannical overlords, and against unbelievable odds, they pulled it off. It's 1776 all over again, and our day has dawned.

God Bless America.

1. me too MPR
because this is a victory for people like us-who have rejected the MSM's attempts at making the bogs and online political junkies seem like a radical fringe element-we're not-we are savvy and smart and have learned to pick and choose WHERE we will get our information from and NOT be lemmings like oh say,the republicans that blindly support the politics of fear and name-calling

But this victory in CT should give you hope that it can happen elsewhere. Do you use e-voting, btw?

8. Americans have been voting the right way for 6 yrs, but their votes aren't
being counted.

Connecticut had lever machines.

The media and the voting machines SPUN our Democratic lawmakers and Democratic voters into believing the entire country was moving rightward.

Now, they are beginning to realize that the owls are not always what they seem.

10. I know that CT was somewhat unique, but still Lieberman was a
supposedly indestructable incumbent. If we can just have honest elections, the Pukes have NO chance.

13. That's my whole point - honest elections would have told Dems long ago
that their issues WERE resonating and important to the American people, but the GOP controlled media and voting machines were sending the exact opposite message.

14. couldn't agree more, blm
How many times have we been in this situation where our guy is ahead by 6 or 7 points, then all of a sudden, the count reverses and the other guy wins?
My theory is that it couldn't happen last night because the state still had levers.
I don't think we should feel at all secure about elections around the country, because they can still steal them with electronic voting machines.
I agree with you -- we've BEEN winning - the votes haven't been counted correctly.

16. Al Gore and Kerry
Al Gore and Kerry stood up to them. And the Democrats wet their pants.

So please tell me, what has Ned Lamont done in the past 20 years to make him your hero.

He ran against an idiot and won.

Of course Gore and Kerry would have won. But Democrats didn't think they were liberal enough.

But I guy you never heard of, well he is my hero.

Got it

19. The bitterness is truly amazing.
This started out as a joyous thread. I said virtually nothing about Lieberman, except that Lamont beat him. Yet the vitriol has caused one flamebait sub thread to be axed, and here we go again. Some people just need to grow up.

since Lamont entered it. We are fairly familiar with him and what I have seen of him is very impressive. Maybe you should open your eyes before you caste aspersions.
