Yet another "triumph" for the DLC!
Edited on Wed Aug-09-06 12:44 AM by Cascadian
The only true victory the DLC has had was Bill Clinton but look at the last several elections. Lieberman's loss should be another nail in their coffin. Your time is about up, DLC people. The fat lady is about to sing! Please exit the stage!

3. The big dog campaigned for LieberBUSH. He lost his moral authority.

6. Agreed. His cult status aside, Clinton is the "Big DLC Dog"
We may love him, but he played for the wrong team in this race.

8. LieberBUSH? You couldn't have done better than that?
:) I agree though. Clinton has advanced conservative causes throughout his career...not to mention cheated on his wife. But she's too conservative for my tastes too.

14. BC and Joe have been friends for 36 years. Helping your friends
is still a virtue.

4. Save the gloating until November, no one has won anything.
A Democrat has beaten a Democrat. If Lieberman won, that's still all that would have happened. Even if we win that seat in November, that's all that will have happened. It's not a victory, it's more a declaration of war. Now, let's win the war.

7. Even that wasn't a victory

Without Perot attacking Bush- and taking some of the far right's heat, Clinton would never probably have gotten into the Whitehouse in the first place.

and-lest we forget- Clinton was a very mixed bag- in some cases a disaster in terms of federal administrative policy making.

9. I have had many disagreements with Bill but I will say this.
Bill Clinton was far better than the monkey we have now. Hell. I would take 1 Bill Clinton over a dozen George W. Bushes.

11. I have some strong repub friends
who are against all the democratic agenda. One mentioned the Clinton-Monica affair the other day. Then he rebutted by saying "at least I had money in my pocket back then". Basically the repubs will not like to see Bill Clinton back but they at the same time would like to see the same economy we had in his presidency.

13. Bill Clinton ...

Had Al Gore with him, Bruce Babbitt and a host of other fine people. Bill Clinton, for his shortcomings, was an exemplary President because of the people he put into positions of power, people who actually gave a shit about the nation.

No, Bill Clinton was far from perfect...He dicked around on Kyoto, he signed some shitty trade laws, and cheated on his wife (not really my business, but anyway)...but in the end, he looks like a modern day Abe Lincoln compared to this pile of shit we have running (badly) the nation now.

I wasn't and am not a monster Clinton fan, but boy do I miss him now.

15. For what it's worth....
Bill Clinton may have done some decisions that could be at best old-style Republican centrist, but he is definitely better than this ass clown that occupies the White House now. But Clinton a liberal? Most certainly not. I think America is about ready for a liberal renaissance. Not the peace and wimpy go along to get along crap but some butt kicking, street fighting liberalism. America needs it!
