3. You've never met any DC staffers...they're pretty much up for bid

and go where the perceived power is. People get burned out pretty fast in this town, most politicians put on a good show of giving a shit....but party hardy with the other side after work. I used to work on the hill, fifteen years ago I had enough. There is NO ONE who gives a shit who's been there for more than one term. The only power we as the public have, is voting those in who at least sound like us....don't get caught up in thinking they will actually believe in much of anything after a few years. I know it sounds cynical...but unfortunately true.
