I just got back from voting, and had trouble with the machine
I'm in GA's 4th District.

We use the touch screen machines.

The card they gave me wouldn't load into the machine. It kept rejecting it.

The card I'm speaking of is the little yellow card that is supposed to record your votes once inserted into the machine.

It took the poll workers about 15 minutes to straighten it out.

For some reason, the card kept telling them that I didn't belong to a political party  even tho I voted in the main primary.

I just want to share this FWIW, as I see several people claiming that McKinney is crying wolf.

2. That is not good news. Thanks for reporting that problem.
I've never had any Diebold problems (that I could notice) in my county but we haven't had a high profile candidate like McKinney here either. Who knows what happens to the votes once they go onto that yellow card. :(

I told the poll wokrers that I think we should trash the machines and go with hand counted, paper ballot only. They always look surprised when they hear this. ;)

I loook forward to seeing you and BTH soon!

3. You neeed to write a statement or fill out a protest with
the election judge, I don't know how they do things in Georgia, but
the incident needs to be documented.

Thanks for the info.

4. Catwoman, please let Howard Dean know about this
the DNC should know, if it's not picking up your party, this might be a sneaky way of not
counting your vote, remember in New Mexico; the machine had a value only for Republican
and Independents, so anyone who voted for Kerry was not tabulated because the machine read
them as 0, you heard how there were 7000 votes for nobody; that's how it happens.

8. Even sadder to be shafted out of it. I hope that all of the irregularities
will be investigated!

9. Maybe this Diebold proof that they're not certified
will make them have open software that can be checked, something has got to change. I am
glad Robert Kennedy, Jr. is looking into this. I respect him a lot for taking this to court,
because that is where it needs to be.

Then you could have voted for everyone. No problems.

Yes, it's sickening. I hate to hear about that. Damnit! Diebold execs should be jailed.
