Congressional seats belong to the citizens, not to the person
Just stating the often overlooked obvious.

Brown is not running for 'Dewine's' seat.

Mfume and Cardin are not running in the primary to defend 'Sarbanes' seat.

Ford is not challenging the three Repubs for 'Frist's' seat.

As a citizen you have as much right to that seat - and to decide who gets to sit in it - as anyone.

1. That's what happens in an oligarchy though
The seat does belong to the person holding it in that form of government.
