Breaking - Lieberman cancels the rest of his scheduled public events today
Sen. Joe Lieberman has canceled the rest of his scheduled public events today and is headed for his Rocky Hill headquarters, where he will call supporters and urge them to vote. His campaign staff said the senator thought that was a better use of his time.
Lieberman was scheduled to meet voters at the polls in Waterbury at 2:30 p.m., and in Southington at 4 p.m..

His challenger, Ned Lamont, is slated to visit with voters at 4:50 p.m. at the Martin Luther King School in New Haven, and again at 5:50 p.m. in Hartford's West End. He will visit Hartford Seminary at 6 p.m. before traveling to his campaign's primary party at the Four Points Sheraton on Research Parkway in Meriden

7. That's my thought
I may have been too painful. And if he sees the low turnout of his supporters with his own eyes, he may have a hard time convincing himself those eyes were lying to him.

Ned to Joe: Need Some Web Help?

Categories: General, Connecticut Senate Race, Joseph Lieberman, Ned Lamont

So Tom Swan, Ned Lamont’s campaign manager, has just offered to send a technician to Lieberman headquarters to help fix its campaign web site.

Mr. Swan, a bit more seriously, said that Ned will denounce the alleged hacking into the Lieberman site during a public appearance this afternoon. This comes after the Lieberman campaign accused its political opponents of collapsing its Web site and announcing plans to file a formal complaint with state and federal officials over it.

Dan Gerstein, a Lieberman adviser, said it was too soon to say if the campaign might try to invalidate the primary results based on a charge of voter suppression.

Joe, meanwhile, has cancelled the last two events of his 10-day bus tour this afternoon because there were not many voters at the polling stations. So he’s going back to headquarters to call mayors, union leaders, and other allies, aides said.

There seemed to be a subtle mood change on the Lieberman bus this afternoon, after a 24-hour period when the senator seemed newly optimistic.

Mr. Lieberman did not say he was pessimistic, to be sure, but the fact that he scrapped his last events after going non-stop over two days seemed unusual. It’s not as if all of his other events drew overflow crowds in recent days; several of the events had few people in the audience beyond campaign aides and volunteers. Some of the Lieberman aides, meanwhile, seemed more concerned about the web site collapse than anything else.

24. I hope he does. Just think of all the REAL voter suppression going on
which gets little mention and NO legal recourse. I hope the other side starts shouting about voter suppression so it becomes an "American issue".

28. LOL he loses by 20% and files voter suppression charges
because his website wasn't up for two days. Yup, THAT would have made all the difference.

14. Hasn't Joe ever heard of those damn recorded calls like I get all
the damn time? I jsut got one last night for the Lt. Gov of Ga. spot!

Now, I realize they have to be PLANNED!

The more I hear and see of Joe/s campaign, the more it looks like either he was sooo convinced he was in a safe spot and ignored Ned, or he has some of the damn dumbest campaign workers on the planet!

20. a very sharp guy
just called on a local CT talk radio (someone posted a link) and said "I am proud of CT people. They are sending a message that the goverment is not working. This is not about being democrat or republican. This is about democracy..." And this guy said he is republican  He also said Lamont voters are very motivated and the turnout in Lamont stronghold is very very high.

23. Ned's going to get from New Haven
to Harford in one hour, at rush hour no less. I don't think so. Not with CT traffic anyway!

Not hating on Ned, I voted for him, but I would love to get from New Haven to Hartford in one hour at rush hour.

Is he flying? :)

It wouldn't be unusual. If you've got the money, you use whatever you can the last few days prior to the election hopping around everywhere.
