Poll question: Who Do **YOU** Think Hacked Joe's Website?
This whole website hack issue is bad news. NOBODY wins because of it.

Some say a Lamont suporter did it. Some say it was a puposeful inside job. (So far) no one is accusing the official Lamont organization of doing it ..... so far .....

Using your critical thinking skills and not voting from your heart, who do you think is responsible?

3. I agree. They probably didn't pay their bills...
...and decided to take advantage of the situation to get a ton of sympathy press.

no, it isn't. the hosting company pretty much cleared that up
It looks like a standard DOS type attack, most likley from some misguided Lamont supporter. Either way, Lieberman looks like a fool (again). I can't wait to hear his concession speech. Hopefully he's not so damned arrogant that he follows through and runs as an independent.

29. DOS or slashdot effect?
It wouldn't have to be an actual DOS; it could be the /. effect from a bunch of DUers, Freepers, and God knows who else checking in on Joe on a primary day, frying a server that was only spec'ed out to handle a statewide level of traffic.

32. Very true
Though Lieberman's campaign is claiming to have evidence of an attack (who knows about the veracity of that though, most ISP sysadmins know nothing about diagnosing traffic related problems, and even less about determining if that problem is due to some form of attack).

9. I think it's all a bunch of crap from whining Joe to drum up support.
Any chance DU gave the Lieberman campaign the idea to blame it on Ned yesterday, when this first was discovered? Deep in the particular thread, one poster suggested that it would be perfect for Joe to suggest that Ned did it and start a sympathy campaign. And then today, viola, what's Joe doing?

I have developed and run a few web sites. If the site had been hacked, it would NOT have taken them so long to figure it out. Someone somewhere screwed up, or intentionally did this as a Rovian sympathy tactic. Joe has nothing else left.

13. Sounds like GOP to me....only they would have logic that included
voters being disenfranchised because they couldn't go to his website on the day of the election! How could that possibly matter? I think they are trying, as usual, to pre-empt the charges of voter manipulation by trotting out this last minute, poorly thought out, "they do it too" trick.

ON edit: I don't think it was hacked at all. I think that they didn't pay their bills, and ran with the "hacking" story.

28. I voted "purely accident"...
...because that was the closest to my guess: not expecting heavy traffic on primary day, the traffic either killed their server or overstepped their hosting plan.

Managers, particularly in politics, tend to become gibbering morons whenever tech issues are being discussed (it's like a series of tubes, see...), so somehow the idea got out that they were 'hacked'.
