Firedoglake reports Lamont campaign already responded to hacking charge.
If Senator Lieberman’s website was indeed hacked, we had absolutely no part in it, denounce the action, and urge whoever is responsible cease and desist immediately. It is our sincerest wish that everyone planning to vote for Ned Lamont or Joe Lieberman does so today.

Tim Tagaris, Internet Communications Director, Ned Lamont for U.S. Senate

3. That's what I think - just more propaganda from the master himself,
assisting a good friend and confidante of el Presidente, named Joe Lieberman. Thanks, KKKarl.

4. Probably took more skill to hack that site than it does to hack Diebold
and steal an election.

Who knows who hacked the site. I'm sure Lamont is not behind it and claiming so is a typical Lieberman whine & smear job. For people who don't benefit from his actual deeds in office - like big pharma, weapons dealers, etc - he has to come up with SOME reason why anyone sane would vote for him.

5. Perfect!
"IF Senator Lieberman's website was indeed hacked . . ."

Call him on his b.s. There's much virtue in "if!"

6. Ned "officially" was not involved. But what about a Ned supporter?
The FBI is investigating and will nail the culprit. This is a federal felony offense if hacking occurred. Bush will be sure to seek the maximum sentence.

"Bush will be sure to seek the maximun sentence??????"

7. I heard Al Franken say about an hour ago that the site wasn't hacked.....
Edited on Tue Aug-08-06 01:19 PM by seafan
..he said someone (on his staff?--I didn't catch it..) had captured a screen shot of Lieberman's web site just before it went down and there was some type of message that indicated for someone to contact the web master for payment for renewal of the site... sorry to be so sketchy, but this is the gist of what Al said.

Hat tip to julialnyc on Skinner's journal thread for the link to Lamont's blog with the info!

10. Very embarassing. And then to magnify that embarassment by wildly accusing
Lamont "supporter" tsk tsk.

And all just to cover for loss. Grow up Joe.

11. Good response by the Lamont crew
It's unfortunate someone did this. Maybe it was someone from the Joe camp just to make Ned look bad.
