woo hoo! we've got a new voter!
after 35 years of not being registered to vote (in protest, he says), the last 7 of which he has had to listen to me tell him that not voting is NOT a protest and after 6 years of the * admin, my boyfriend has registered to vote!!!!

i had him register independent because this is all so new to him (he shares my politics, not to worry). he wanted to register 'green' but was afraid of making a gummint list! i guess the last 2 years of my constant politics (tv, radio, 'net, etc.) . . . and swearing at the tv . . . wore him down. i'm rubbing off on him. i'm sure ko and js helped a lot too.

i think what put him over the edge was watching me hugging cindy sheehan and not realizing who she was . . . he was disappointed that he didn't get to meet her too.

i am so proud!

1. I have a good friend who usuall votes republican (NRA member)
His wife registered to vote as a democrat last May for the first time.
She went through the trouble to write Bob Taft and Ken Blackwell and credit them for her civic awakening.

That goes down as at least a cancelled Repub vote in my book.
Every little bit helps

2. I have friends
who were once true red stater's. After almost 6 years of Bush they believe they cannot vote for the republicans again. I strongly believe not impeaching Bush does more harm to the republican cause.
