Daily Kos covers AFSCME

I've been dying to see IF anyone would post the Kos item about AFSCME from last Friday.

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2006/8/4/133743/7622

Labor and the progressives need to realize they need each other for both to get candidates elected in 08.

Any thoughts?

1. My wife is an AFSCME member, and she will LOVE it.
Sounds great to me, too.

2. I belong to MSEA which is a local of AFSCME...
we are totally autonomous.

This year we are working to keep Gov. Granholm in office.

3. You'd have been holding your breath for a long time here
waiting for someone to post it. Many "liberals" here are either oblivious to unionism or don't care to know. I think its that they really don't care. Some even confuse then equate unionism with corporatism.

I gave up a long time ago. My last try was this: http://journals.democraticunderground.com/Gman/14. People didn't give a fat rat's butt that these companies are union.

My wife was CWA for 18 years. My sisters entire career was also at Northwestern Bell-US West-Quest with the CWA. We all stayed out the three week strike of 83. I was GAU before I went to work for the city and am now covered by AFSCME. Unions are pro working individuals & family's. Yes there can be and are a bad union or boss. But the majority do what they do best, represent the workers in the local.

Open mic. Lets here your story.
