I see these christians and other pull yourself up by your bootstrap people have been crying like hell lately. What do you think it is job losses, gas prices the war or what? Some want to still claim themselves as a republicon and claim these others are some types of aliens, as far as I am concerned they are all the same. The problem is that it is effecting them and their families somehow, they didn't give a damn as long as it was affecting others. We are all in the same boat now and will go down with the ship because they wouldn't stand up until it is too late.

2. Not your father's Republican Party

The current Republican party is Republican in name only. My Dad is a life-long Republican and his values are very old-school. He hates Bush even though he voted for Bush twice. He will vote for anyone but a Republican in the upcoming elections. He is tired of being lied to and embarrassed by the Chimperor.

They are some type of alien, without question. I'd give anything if it were the Grand Old Party again.

My father rarely admits to mistakes (in his defense, he's rarely wrong) but, he's admitted making 2...voting for Bush twice. His biggest problem? Gas prices and giving the oil companies subsidies. He's not happy with the big government or the deficit. Old school republicanism was his belief and he's stated that as long as the Dems put up decent candidates, he's voting straight ticket Dem this time around.

Everyone I know is pissed. I know one that wouldn't sign my imppeachment petition because his Brother is in the Air Force.

But not one is happy with Bush.

I have been canvassing in a Red State and no one likes what is happening.

I had two say, I am voting for the Republican, because I always vote Republican.

Work your ass off. We are fighting fearmongering liars, a corrupt media, and crooked machines.

if I ever feel that I disagree with anyone in the dems party I will not vote for them as I have done in this elections primary. I will do a write-in or vote for another party before I will vote for those who are against this country and are intent on destroying it. These people will die because they are republicons and they will allow stupid ass to start more wars.

6. Yes, my son has changed his voter affiliation

from Republican to Independent. He's so disgusted with Bush he can't even talk about it with me yet at any length. He just says "You were right, you were right... I was a jerk.", and that's that. I do know it was Katrina that put him over the edge, and heh's even for a troop pullout from Iraq now.

This administration's mistakes must become the next Herbert Hoover, the next James Buchanan. For the next 20 years, at every opportunity, we must remind moderate voters that Republicans lied to us, killed our children, smeared our reputation abroad, blew up our debt, blew out our budget, ignored our pollution, politicized our schools, enabled corporate con artists, pimped our our Congress, privatized our natural treasures, and defiled our Constitution... all within 10 years of impeaching a man over a blow job because they didn't like his surpluses, his prosperity, his investment in future growth, or his wife.

22. I'm not into nagging... and I find my kids don't respond well to it anyway

so he'll have to live with the way he's voted for the rest of his life, as far as I'm concerned. Why should it only bother those of us who didn't vote as he did? At least he looked at Katrina and realized that Party was way past broken. The lack of fiscal restraint bothers him a lot, too. So, there'll be plent to remind him without me needling him about it.

keep the power he and the gop have. Some will vote for the repugs because of the war between Israel and Hezzbolah, he will hype it up by shouting terra, terra, terra, and they will fall into the same trap again and this country will go deeper and deeper in to destruction. Something will happen before the fall elections.

They will come up with Osama or some type of terror attack and all of the scary cats will fall into place and give them more power and if this happens it will be over. If these people can't see by now that he is the problem I don't know which country they are living in.

By now everyone should know their play book, they will come out with some damaging evidence on a senator or congressmen, or they will blackmail some. They will do anything to win and the media will help.

9. My mom quit the GOP about 10 years ago

She had been very active, even managed (successfully) a run for a seat on the California state Assembly. She could see the writing on the wall, quit due to the takeover by "wild-eyed religious zealots" (her actual words).

16. At a workshop two weeks ago I sat with 2 "long term" GOPers who said...

...that they were willing to vote for the Democrats in 2008, just so long as the Democrats gave them "a good reason" to vote. I think that meant if we don't run anyone too lefty or too smearable. Well, hell, with Rove having set the precedent on how to win as a Republican, all of our candidates are "smearable." The point is to run someone who can credibly shoot back at the smears.

But the core message was that the Republicans have screwed up everything "big time" and even former rock solid Red votes are gonna be up for grabs for the next two years.
