Before tomorrow I would like to praise the Connecticut Democrats
I don't know where the numbers are in the Lieberman/Lamont primary so I am posting this blind.

I would just like to thank the Connecticut Democrats for making the stand that needed to be made and everyone needs to see. They have taken a "lock" a "sure thing" incumbent Senator and pulled the floor right out from underneath of him and the party's powerbase. They showed that no one is without political threat and that their demands will be listened to... and they clearly have heard it judging from the line of people trying to help Joe stay in office.

I hope that regardless of what happens tomorrow the media shows this for what it is- a truly grassroots movement. I also hope that our fellow citizens on the "other side" see who is willing to take down one of their party's heavyweights and not just sit back and take it like they do. If they don't see that they are just buying into the equivalency of the never resolved world of pro-wrestling they never will. They don't have to come over to our side they just need to realize how they are being taken for granted. Again we will see how the results of tomorrow play with the media but for me I say:

HEAR HEAR!
Good job!
Way to go!

1. Joe may still come back at win.
According to today's Q-poll, he now leads in the $30k to $50 k income group, which is the largest block of CT primary voters.

3. I am praising the movement
at the end of the day at least the powers that be in the Democratic party will know that we demand some answers and some results.

I hope Lamont wins but at this point that is secondary IMHO

6. It occurred to me today that several months ago
I didn't even know who Ned Lamont was, and didn't really think much about Joe Lieberman despite the fact that I've always had an interest in politics. And now that the primary is almost here, I'm really excited! Thanks to everyone at DU for expanding my interest in politics.

5. I agree. They shook up the status quo and broke through the mythology
that we must be Republicans in order to win against Republicans. Even is by some scam Joe wins, he was forced to moderate and even atone for his adoration of the GOP and Bush

8. We threw out the Mayor of St. Paul before CT took on Joementum

Randy Kelly (nominally a Democrat) sided with Bush, appeared with Bush, and talked up Bush.

We threw him out as part of the Recall Randy campaign.

We now have a new Democratic Mayor of St. Paul who doesn't side with Bushco.

Hey, Connecticut! Nice of you to catch up to Minnesota!

12. Thank you!!
Another thing to keep in mind is this...........we are also voting in a Dem Primary to choose our next Governor,to see who will face (we call her Snow White,) the Repub who took over when our Criminal Gov. was sent to prison. Remember John Roland? Well this is going to add to the turnout, and at least partially accounts for over 30,000 Independants have switched over to Dems, since May, so they can vote in the Primary!!!
