2. I think I won my election as

precinct committee chair last week. That's here in Overland Park, KS.

I ran for the Kansas State House in 2004 and lost. There's a fine Democrat running in this district this year, and unlike me he has an excellent chance of winning, since the moderate Republican incumbent was defeated in the primary. The right-winger who won that primary did have a lot of outside money making expensive mailings on his behalf. However, the moderate Republicans are far more likely to vote for a Democrat rather than a right-wing Republican, so hopefully we'll have at least one more Democrat in the Kansas State House next year.
