“Californians deserve a partner in Washington who values sustainable, clean energy, a sound national security and a robust economy,” General Clark said. “That partner is Jerry McNerney whose informed, honest approach to public service is needed in Washington now more than ever. I am pleased to endorse him today.”
General Clark praised McNerney as a leader who will help restore honesty, integrity and accountability to Washington. “In voting for Jerry McNerney, Californians have an opportunity to turn things around before it’s too late. To change politics-as-usual, we have to vote for someone besides the usual politicians,” Clark said.
McNerney is very pleased to welcome the retired four-star general and Supreme Allied Commander of Europe to the campaign. “I am very honored to have General Clark’s support,” McNerney said. “His endorsement ranks right by my son’s and all veterans who believe in my message.”
McNerney’s son, Michael, joined the Air Force because of the events of September 11, 2001, and inspired Jerry to run for Congress.
Clark also praised McNerney for the unique perspective he would bring to Congress as a renewable energy expert and an advocate for more sensible energy policies.
“Under the current Administration, polluters have free reign in America and we are paying a steep price in terms of access to clean air and water. With Jerry McNerney in Congress, we can work towards a more sensible energy policy that reduces carbon emissions and with it reduces our negative impact on our natural environment," said Clark. "Jerry’s professional background as an engineer and energy specialist is a perspective that is crucial in Congress."
