Urgent! Looking for a Mr. Rogers-type math wizard.
I`m trying to figure out a way to find a Mr. Roger`s-type math wizard and get him a prime time show on MSNBC....preferably during Joe Scarborough`s hour. You know, honest, soft spoken, puppet lover, simple gray cardigan, all around decent guy. An old timer would be ideal, someone uncomfortable with a producer whispering in his ear to put the kibosh on truthfulness. A straightforward guy with a few simple props like a gallon jar of pennies, a bag of Ben Cohen`s Oreo cookies, or even a tin of Grandma`s pinto beans. I wouldn`t want him to be flippy and start his show off with, "It`s the math, stupid" even though it is.

Numbers. Those lines of figures that mean everything to some and nothing to others. The national debt. Iraqi civilian casualties. Hurricane victims still living in campers. Homeless children. Veterans with PTSD. Gallons melting from ice shelves. Folks whose unemployment benefits have run out. AIDS orphans in Africa. Trade deficit. Chinese items in Wal-Mart stores. Times Republicans have said "cut and run." Bush`s vacation days to date. Boarded up factories. Tons of bombs dropped on Fallujah. Uncounted votes. Warrantless wiretaps. Torture prison body count. Annual CEO perks. Signing statements. Soldiers of Fortune in Iraq. Drug company profits. FEMA waste, fraud and abuse.

Imagine a show like this while others were chirping about cat fights on The View or the shrimp recently found bearing an image of Jesus on its side? Imagine if Americans began to sit up and take notice....and action? Why, all Hell would break loose, even in Idaho. Wolf Blitzer`s Situation Room would need a dozen split screens just to keep up with the protests.

It is the math. In the WMD department, zero from zero is still zero. In the national debt department, each citizen`s share of debt is somewhere around $29,000. That`s thousand....with a T....like in treason.
