WTF is up with the John McCain google ad??

Does anyone else throw up in their mouth a little bit when the "Join John McCain's Straight Talk America" ad banner gushes across the top of the screeen? :puke: :puke: :puke:

Admins: can you do anything about it, like reject that ad specifically? I know I have the option of turning off google ads, but I'd prefer not to as every now and then I see an ad I want to click on, plus it helps make DU money. I know I am getting sick of seeing the decidedly NON-progressive McCain's smarmy face every time I come into GD, though. Gag.

I totally agree... That ad, plus

all the goddammed religious ads are getting oppressive. AT first I coldn't imagine taking the tiime to block out the ads, but I'm seriously considering it now.

It's not like GD is slathered in McCain posts and his name is triggering some kind of instant response.

No, I imagine the google adsters just thought "oh, this is a political board... politics = McCain... who DOESN'T love McCain????"

There have been a few google ads that actually piqued my interest, and most seem to be relevant to a liberal discussion board. Plus I figure that if it makes DU a few bucks, why not?

But I probably will turn them off if I keep having to look at McCain's self-worshipping banner ad.

4. Haven't seen the ad but can't imagine I'd care.

I find the Google machine pretty entertaining especially the way it seems to
latch onto key words in a post and can pop up an ad with similiar
tags. For instance, I saw a post where someone was berating Israeli
policy and below was the Google ad for cheap airline tickets to
Israel. Not a perfect ad campaign but very ambitious!
