Rep. Katherine Harris Predicts Senate Win

By BRENDAN FARRINGTON

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Aug 4, 2006 (AP)— Gov. Jeb Bush doesn't think
U.S.Rep. Katherine Harris can beat Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson.
Neither does the state Republican Party leadership, nor her three
former campaign managers.

That doesn't matter to Harris. Despite a week of bad news for her
floundering campaign, she believes the others are wrong.

"We'll win, so don't listen to the prognosticators, or the pollsters
you can make a poll say anything you want," Harris said Thursday
at a luncheon. "Don't be discouraged. We've done it before. We'll do
it again."

As she finished, the 27 Republican women that came to hear her speak
applauded and rose to their feet.

She says she's getting overwhelming support.
Can we say that she's totally lost it?

Or living in a total fantasy world. Or both.

7. I wonder how they'll explain her winning when she was behind by 90%
Don't forget - in Florida the machines vote, not the people.

8. If She hangs onto Toto...
Closes her eyes... Clicks her heels three times... while chanting...
"there's no one who can beat us..."
"there's no one who can beat us..."
"there's no one who can beat us..."

and keeps smoking the strong stuff, cultivated by her friends under the electric lamps in the old abandoned orange warehouses...

She just might be able to pull it off!

By "pull it off" I mean convince herself anything is still actually possible(!); that's she might still win(!); that she might not really be in a doomed campaign; that maybe her Republican pals haven't really deserted her--not after all the dirty shenanigans she pulled for them--I mean, after all, the President Himself owes his job to her(!), I mean, if the Republicans have sunk so low that theres no longer any honor among thieves, what have they got left(?). Still, there's no problem really, she's never really been "one of the truly wealthy/powerful Republican elite", she's merely been fantasizing at becoming a member after having been thrown a bone for her service in 2000--that she can't see that she's been kicked to the curb is nobody's problem but her own. If she can't take the joke she's become, they'll just make it all the harder on her later. Best if she goes... quietly. Exit, stage left.

18. bwahahahahaha
People who once worked for her question why she hasn't bowed out.

"I believe the reason she's running are two," said former campaign manager Jim Dornan. "She doesn't believe ever that she has done anything wrong and she has an ego that's so outsized it won't allow her to think in a reasonable manner."

19. "We've done it before ..."
She is referring, of course, to herself and The Twins.

Because no Katherine Harris thread is complete without the obligatory reference to Spunk and Moxie.
