So when the Dems take over the House and maybe the Senate...
what are the lobbyists going to do since they are basically Republicans?

1. There are still plenty of lobbyists and dollars to go around.
It's not like the Dems are all clean. We need to get corporate money out of politics, once and for all.

2. Easy
Start to pay the Dems more.

It always happens, even though some industries will maintain their pay package to the GOP even if they increase their palm butter for Dems.

And you can count on them spending more and more on the rw thinktanks such as AEI, Heritage, PPI, et al.

3. buy dems, just like they have in the past....
The best congress money can buy. We need fundamental political change in this country, not just a change of flavor.

4. More than a few on our side are quite happy to 'have lunch' with them
Unless **we** get involved, the lobbyist will remain in the lobby, not unlike the biblical moneychanges in front of the temple.

6. Worried about neolibs
I'll answer the question I misread it - when the Dems take over the House and maybe the Senate... my biggest fear is that they're going to 'fight the war the right way,' including increasing troop levels, even if that means instituting a draft.

7. I was reading some Molly Ivins about the K Street Project and I
thought about how DeLay and Co demanded that only Republicans be hired by the bigger lobbys...

Now if the New Majority wants to be pissy, they would only talk to the Democratic lobbyists which would mean just the labor unions, environmental groups...etc. :D

8. I think the ethics vote in the house was 'put aside'. I haven't heard
much mention of it.

Bottom line, they pretty much all suck. And I thought about putting a smilie here, but couldn't figure out which one. Happy, sad... and there's no disgusted.

9. Defference between Dem's and REpugs.
The Dems have a pluriality who are mostly clean monied. The Repugs, none.
I'd say the DLC ers would be more than happy to do business with whomever.
