Jane Hamsher - Firedoglake
She had a post and pic up at Huffington that was unflattering to Joe. According to Lieberman, this is the worst attack in the history of political campaigns. :eyes:

6. She's a loony left liar with a blog
who's been traveling with Ned the Poodle. This, despite Ned's protestations that he doesn't know anything about blogs or bloggers and has nothing to do with them. Unfortunately for Ned the Poodle, it looks like he got caught in a lie because he's on record as telling bloggers how grateful he is for how much they did for his campaign. They were his Goebbels.

11. From Colin McEnroe's blog:
" On the other hand, I can pretty well guarantee that no Lamont staffer or campaign official signed off on the blackface graphic. On the other hand, my years of covering Rob Simmons have given me a real dislike for shabby tricks that benefit a campaign, even as the official word from the campaign is: we knew nothing about this. But the strong words from Tom Swan are, in fact, more than I usually get from Simmons about something like this.

It's also pretty true to the quintessence of the blogs that they like these extreme and slightly unfair images. It's a commonplace on the sphere. Bloggers make Bob Englehart look like Jim Lehrer, a model of evenness and sobriety. That blackface image doesn't belong in the mainstream of a campaign, but it hews pretty close to the underground comic book spirit of many blogs. So how close should a campaign get to the bloggers who love it?"

Tom Swan's comment:

"It's offensive. It does not represent this campaign," said Tom Swan, Lamont's campaign manager. "We were offended, and we took immediate action when we heard about it."

Colin is our local drive time talk radio host and has been with the Hartford Courant for years. I trust what he has to say on these matters. He has known a lot of the participants for a long time.

16. Who said that? Defensive, much?
But instead of trying to deny that the two had any connection to each other, one should consider all the facts. I have no doubt that Lamont has no control over what she does on her site, and was not consulted about it beforehand. However, the two do have a professional relationship with each other and trying to deny it is just lying.

18. Defensive? Um, no.
I am not denying anything. I know very little of this woman or her blog. I was just commenting on the use of the picture.

I have no doubt that Lamont has no control over what she does on her site, and was not consulted about it beforehand.

That was my point.

19. Neat-o. I wasn't disagreeing with it. But some here are suggesting
That Lamont has never heard of her, because he's just doing his own thing and the bloggers are just doing their own thing. But this clearly isn't the case, because she was part of Lamont's entourage to the Colbert Report.

5. Someone posted the picture that was promptly taken down off HuffPost...
...and now the thread is gone. Whoever created that picture didn't have their brain tuned properly. It was digusting and totally uncalled for. Lieberman is an ass to be sure, but that was a bit too offensive.

21. It was in poor taste.
But FDL is a great blog and I won't lose any sleep over it.

You know what I find really offensive? When a Democrat resorts to hiring Young Republicans to GOTV for his campaign.
