BOSTON TEA PARTY AUGUST 16, 2006
In 1773 the American Revolution began with the dumping of the tea. I would like to start the NEW AMERICAN REVOLUTION and send thousands of tea bags to the white house from all over the country on August 16, 2006. This would show our (democrats) intent to take back our country in both the upcoming elections and in 2008. Of course my tea bags would be used to signify my disgust for this administration. Anyone with me on this?

6. Like we're not already on a list
Attention Patriots! On December 16, 1773, the Sons of Liberty, a group of 150 residents of Boston lead by Samuel Adams stormed Griffin’s Wharf and dumped 342 crates of tea into Boston Harbor, an act of rebellion known the world over as the Boston Tea Party.

In honor of their action, and in order to signal to the current King George and his cronies that the November Revolution is at hand, we call on all GOOD PATRIOTS to send tea to D.C.! That’s right, it’s TEA PARTY TIME!!

Save those used tea bags, ladies and gentlemen, and put them to a NOBLE CAUSE. Send your tea bags to the Republican National Committee at 310 First Street, SE, Washington DC 20003. Let’s dump our tea in their laps!!

14. I think "Boston Tea Party" energy is wasted on the Bush junta. The teabag
Edited on Thu Aug-03-06 05:53 PM by Peace Patriot
s would go the way of our votes, right into the compost heap out in the Rose Garden.

It could be edifying to the populace--if they were to find out about it. But I don't think they would. Better to aim such energy at the actual mechanism of power--say, stolen elections--in venues where ordinary people still have some influence, for instance, the local/state election officials who purchase electronic voting equipment that runs on Bushite corporate TRADE SECRET, PROPRIETARY programming code, with virtually no audit/recount controls.

And I do have a proposal in that regard: Massive Absentee Ballot voting this fall. Boycott the election theft machines! Flood these corrupt election officials with MOUNTAINS of paper ballots and force them to deal with it. CREATE a crisis. CREATE the conditions for reform. AB voting is not "safe," and it will not result in accurate vote counts, but--if enough people do it (and many are--it's up to 50% in Los Angeles)--it can bring this rigged system down FAST.

Maybe we could combine proposals. Put a tea bag into your Absentee Ballot envelope!

Possibly not wise. They'll use any excuse to invalidate your ballot. But it's definitely amusing thinking about it.

I understand what you are saying. This is an affordable way for democrats to band together and show support of one another. We all have the same angers and frustrations with the path this administration has has taken. This is a gentle and symbolic message that is attainable by most. I hope you will show your support. The date of the New American Revolution, a coordinated effort to show the WH that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, has been changed to September 4, 2006. On September 4, 2006 we will be sending tea bags to Washington. Please visit: www.johnlisainmilo.com for information.

23. K&R here's a 5th vote! with my name, it's in poor form not to support it..
it over-simplifies the 1776 endeavor to view it as ONLY a protest against tea-tax. they were protesting economic oppression by monstrously large British companies too.
