Hannity today endorsed Lieberman even OVER the Republican in CT
I heard it with my own ears. He was talking to Michael Barone, a pollster I believe, who wasn't making many happy predictions for the Republicans.

Anyway, let me repeat, Sean Hannity endorsed Lieberman OVER the Republican running in Connecticut, whose name he did not even mention.

(I know some of you may be wondering how I could be listening to Sean Hannity. It is difficult, I usually listen to NPR but I switch back and forth just to catch whatever the party line is or to see if I can hear any new talking points. He is pretty boring since it's all "you're a great American" "War on Terra" "come to my concert and see Charlie Daniels and Ann Coulter". Not very much of substance ever. Just the Democrats are wrong about everything.)

2. The corporate masters are pleased with Lie-berman.

He favors the neverending war, which the profiteers love.

Thank you to the good People of Connecticut for throwing his ass in the street.

3. Nail in Lieberman's coffin for the primary
And I'll bet my bottom dollar that Hannity knows it.

There's *no* way that Lieberman wins the primary. The Dems are going to beat a path to the polls to vote for Lamont.

Something's afoot here. I just can't put my finger on it.

5. I agree that something's afoot.
Maybe he (Lieberman) really is considering switching sides. Why would someone like Sean Hannity endorse Lieberman? Ooops! snaps fingers suddenly. Because he wants to split the Dem vote! But then again, how many Dems give a hoot what he thinks? You would think he would want anyone on the fence to go Republican. Oooh, I am so confused.

6. Hannity's Lieberman endorsement can only help Lamont.
This is going to be a landslide for Lamont.

The Republican has a snowball's chance in hell of winning. The next Senator will either be a real Democrat or DINO Lieberman, but it WON'T be the Republican.

17. If Lieberman loses the primary my money's on Lamont.
Lieberman is nose-diving. What happens after the primary will be important.

Get this. Lieberman loses the primary in spite of Big Dawg and even Barbara Boxer helping him. But if he loses the primary, no Democrat is going to stand with him. He'll be on his own.

If he can't win the primary with Big Dawg and Boxer, how in the Sam Hell is he going to win the general election with Democrats actively supporting Lamont?

My take is that his campaign people will know this and they will be advising him to withdraw from the race. If he doesn't do that, he's gonna lose the general as well. We'll see Lamont in the well of the Senate.

Who would have predicted this a year ago? Certainly not me. But it certainly looks that way at this point.

4. He wants Lieberman to win because he thinks it makes Democrats look bad.
Edited on Tue Aug-01-06 06:34 PM by Clarkie1
If Lieberman wins the general election they will go on and on about how "liberal Democrats" threw a popular senator out of their own party.

Edit: oh, sorry...forgot that he doesn't think.

12. i suspect he's taking a page from Bill Oh! Really?'s
playbook...who is forever launching crusades against things, thinking his fan base will mobilize with just a word from their master. Wouldn't surprise me if Insanity has lived inside the Faux Spews bubble for so long that he, too, thinks of himself in such megalomanical terms. Or is it mono-manical? Otherwise, i agree: whether he intends it or not, he's given Lamont supporters more reason to turn out than Joe-nertia's.

13. More weirdness - on Hardball Ben Ginsberg ALSO appeared to endorse
Lieberman. I wish someone who saw Hardball could verify this ( I walked into this part a little late). WHY are Republicans coming out of the closet to endorse Lieberman? Didn't Ann Coulter ALSO just recently endorse him?

15. Very simple and very devastating
clip of Lieberman with his "those who disgree with the President do so at our peril" remark
followed by a picture of the "Kiss"

followed by

"The following people think you should vote for Ned Lieberman"
montage with his weird assembly of admirers:
Hannity, Coulter, Ginsberg, Bush, etc.

Announcer:

"Actual Democrats will be voting for . . .

Picture of Ned Lamont

16. Lieberman is still a Democrat
He is not very popular with folks here at D.U., but Joe Lieberman is still likely to win this election. I do not see him switching parties even though some Republicans like him for supporting Bush. He will vote to organize the Senate for the Democrats if we can manage to pick up six seats in November. I would urge everybody to cool it, and let us not kill our own, okay?

22. Rasmussen poll does't support your "Joe is still likely to win" belief
The primary race had Lamont up by 10%

The hypothetical three way race is:
Joseph Lieberman (I) 40%
Ned Lamont (D) 40%
Alan Schlesinger (R) 13%

23. He knows that Lieberman is the best Republican
CT is likely to get. The actual Republican hasn't got a chance, so it's really a choice between Lamont and Lieberman. Also, the last Republican party member to hold that seat was a real disaster from their point of view. They couldn't wait to get him out of there.

25. Excuse me? I am quite confident of what I heard
and the discussion went on for a bit. Hannity said that his endorsement would probably be the kiss of death for Lieberman and Barone responded, "yeah, what he really needs is yours and Rush's endorsement."
