A Primary Lesson for Lieberman
A really good Op-ed piece on why Lieberman is really in trouble (and the fact that being pro Iraq war is only part of his problem and not necessarily the biggest part).

2. He still missed the point
when he says:

If Lieberman survives this primary, it will be thanks to voters who would gladly have cast a protest ballot against him but never really wanted him to lose. Such voters -- and, yes, I identify with them -- are frustrated with Lieberman's accommodationism but like and respect him and hope he might learn something from Lamont's challenge.

Leiberman and the dem leadership who want him back for another term will take it only as they are right and ignor the people even more.
They won't learn anything from this but that they can fight fight the base and they will be even more irrelevent to them. This is a must win for us or for them. He's not going to just change, none of them are unless Lamont wins next week.

3. I agree with you. But would add that for them to change,
Lieberman must also lose in November, otherwise they will feel redeemed.

I'm hoping for a Lamont win in the primary and general elections.
