Israel and Lebanon

There has been much in the press the last two weeks about the latest "war" between Israel and Lebanon. Much of it showing the death and destruction, some repeating the calls for a cease fire and yes of the Bush administration's diplomatic effort to NOT support a cease fire.

Does that position mean that we see the killing and maiming in Israel and Lebanon as complementary to what is going on in Iraq? I don't get it.

AND...of course the "spin"...We have the far right pointing at the "left" saying they hate Israel and love the terrorists...we have the left trying to figure out a way to end the violence and wondering why the right loves killing women and children. We even see it here at DU.

Quite frankly, the pointing and shoving is just wasting time and whether you are a liberal or conservative has nothing to do with it. The real question is: What can be done NOW to stop the bloodshed of innocent lives? Standing by and pontificating is NOT the answer....

To try to put some perspective on it all...I thought I would share the latest from Jim Wallis...an Evangelical Christian who I have always found hard to disagree with.

Rev. Wallis' latest: "The Body of Christ in Lebanon"...can be found at: http://www.sojo.net . So I do not have to post the whole article...just follow the link....I believe it helps put some sanity into the insanity that is going on in the Middle East.
