"This is the thanks we get for giving them a government?"
Ha! Ha! The laughs from Fox News just keep coming.

Weekend hack host Julie Banderas who has been strongly pushing the whole "It's Iran's fault" angle since this started just had some general on and was trying to get him to go along with the whole WMD sent to Syria from Iraq and now in the hands of Hezbollah story in a wild "what-if" stretch.

The general shot it down pretty quick and so she hopped aboard the Arabs are split and how dare Iraq side with Hezbollah.

"This is the thanks we get for giving them a government?"

She actually said that.

Oh yeah....Iraq should be soooooooooooo grateful to us and how dare they not think the way WE want them to think? Those ungrateful bastards! We gave them a government for crying out loud--they should be kissing our feet.

Next the snoozefest Beltway Boys came on to blast the Democrats for suggesting there should be any sort of thing such as diplomacy in the mideast. In the meantime I switch channels and some poor guy and his family are in their car trying to hurry a questioning reporter along while they flee for their lives. I guess ol' Mort and Fred would be singing a different tune if they were fleeing for their lives--but on that cozy Fox News set we don't need no stinkin' diplomacy.

Mort's point is that we're waiting for the right partner to negotiate with--as with Palestine. It wasn't Arafat or Hamas but sooner or later the right one will come along. If a few people get killed in the meantime--so what?

Trust me...I only watch Fox for the laughs. They never dissappoint.

2. Welcome to DU, Red Knight!
:hi:

Faux News (and I use the word "news" loosely) certainly is disgusting, isn't it. I used to watch it for laughs also, but I have to admit I stopped because I didn't want to loose it and put my foot through the tv. :)

Let's see...over the past few months there have been an average of 100 Iraqi's killed per day from the violence...yet they should be thankful. Oh yeah. I'm sure they're thanking their lucky stars. :sarcasm:

3. when the gas-bag bloviators...
...say "negotiating partner", what they mean is neo-con sock puppet; it's the problem Israel has with Palestinians. They found one in Arafat and Fatah, which is why Hamas won the last election--more nationalistic and less corrupt. This is why Kadima is a "unilateralist" party; Labor and Likud thought it necessary to have a Palestinian negotiating partner; Kadima doesn't, having campaigned (and won) on a platform of dictating, by military force, whatever "settlement" is convenient for Israel, regardless of what Palestinians want.

The US is having the same problem in Iraq: we keep installing sock puppets who are supposed to be doing our dirty work, but they either prove incompetent, or keep leaving the neo-con policy reservation to pursue their own agenda. Damn, where's Ahmed Chalabi when Kindasleazy Rice needs him?

5. I saw her last week...
saying "thank God we have President Bush" to some analyst on her show. I almost puked and then changed the channel. Do they really believe what they are saying?
