No joke: Sometime soon Little Boots is going to touch the wrong person...
...and they're going to take a swing at him or slap him or something else that can't be laughed-off or misreported or sidelined in any way. First (that we have on film), Merkel, now Green. At some point soon, if he keeps it up, he's going to do something physical to the wrong person and they're going to respond in kind- probably in defense or upset. I have no idea exactly how the media will report this, especially if someone just hauls off and socks Bush.

Now, complicating this whole prediction (which doesn't seem too far-fetched given his behavior very recently) is the fact that he's surrounded by some of the strongest security for any politician. And always there are the Delta force snipers and counter-snipers which set up for each and every public appearance so that they can protect the pResident should there be an attempt on his life or person. I fear that one of these guys (or his direct bodyguards) might get a little overly-defensive and drop the defender. Stranger things happen during crab season off the coast of Alaska- all it takes is him to misjudge the wrong person and a real physical altercation could result.

No, I don't really have a particular point. Things are just getting Grade A weird with Bush- most of all the jibes that we levied against him were made with the underlying assumption that he may be ignorant, he may be an asshole-fratboy stereotype and he may be a little "tetched" in the head but that premise may not be tenable anymore. If he's really losing it, actually going crazy, well that puts us in the, and this is an understatement of epic proportions, uncomfortable position of contemplating that at the rate he appears to be deteriorating he will not last the 2+ years he has left in his term. It just does not seem that Bush will serve his full second term as pResident because, ignoring the current tootles specter of impeachment, he will literally do something which will indicate that he is mentally or emotionally unfit to hold the office.

This is, in my opinion, a much more frightening supposition than that he is intelligent but just "evil". You can combat evil. This appears to be something...beyond that and not representative of a properly functioning mind. It just freaks the applesauce right out of me.

1. "Arrested development" and lack of appropriate boundaries.
He's becoming more mental with each public appearance. Someone needs to talk to him. I guess that's Bab's job, so expect her to pay a visit to the Oval Office soon. She's the only one the little dictator isn't likely to execute for teling him off.

The irony is that she's part of the problem in creation of this monster.

2. I really think someone already tried talking to him about it...I think...
...he's come unmoored, adrift psychologically (or nearly so). When I was 15, Reagan was president. I remember fearing him not because he was evil, but because he was, essentially, an idiot. I learned that I fear idiots in power much more than the merely evil. Evil, while malignant, generally behaves in the same understandable fashion as "Good" does, just twoard different ends.

If Bush were a D&D character, I think I'd place his alignment at "Chaotic Evil"

From the WikiPedia entry on that "alignment":

Chaotic Evil

"Destroyer"

Chaotic evil is power without control, selfishness unfettered by any law.

A chaotic evil character does whatever his greed, hatred, and lust for destruction drive him to do. If he is simply out for whatever he can get, he is ruthless and brutal. If he is committed to the spread of evil and chaos, he is even worse. Fortunately, his plans are haphazard, and any groups he joins or forms are poorly organized. Typically, chaotic evil people can be made to work together only by force, and their leader lasts only as long as he can thwart attempts to topple or assassinate him.

These characters will commit any act to further their own ends. Chaotic evil is sometimes called "demonic" because demons are the embodiment of chaotic evil.

Many serial killers would fit this description, as would indeed most of the more violent and reckless criminals found in the worst sorts of places.

4. Hoping cool heads prevail. Instead of giving him the thrashing
he so richly deserves, and getting blasted for the effort, I am waiting for some smart bloke to file assult charges against the monster.

His lawyers can try real hard to make the point that laws don't apply to him, or they can have him plead insanity. Either way, he will be exposed.

Did you see the threads with pictures of him constantly putting his hand/arm over Putin? I'll see if I can dig up a link.
