"The Good Fight: Why Liberals -- and Only Liberals -- Can Win the War on Terror and Make America Great Again" by Peter Beinart, is a very interesting book that I have not read, but I think it is worth looking into as an example of muscular liberalism. Beinart is editor-at-large at "The New Republic".

You can easily understand his perspective if you get one thing:

In the D.U., "Liberal" means "bitter, frustrated, Socialist/Communist".
And "Democrat" means "arch right-winger who doesn't believe the U.S. is inherently evil".

Once you get that, everything they say makes sense.
