You want to talk about a worthless ass that calls himself a democrat:
Edited on Wed Jul-12-06 06:39 PM by acmavm
July 10, 2006

Ms. XXXXXXX XXXXXXXX
XXXC X Xth SSSSSS
Omaha, NE 681XX

Dear XXXXXX:

Thank you for contacting me regarding President Bush's use of
signing statements. I was glad to receive your letter.

A signing statement is a written proclamation by the President that
accompanies the signing of a law passed by Congress. Often,
when a president includes a signing statement, it is to clarify the
executive branch's interpretation of the new law. These
"constitutional" signing statements are controversial when they are
at odds with a law's intentions as passed by Congress. The Boston
Globe reported in April 2006 that President Bush had issued 130
signing statements during his term, including more than 750
constitutional challenges, more than all previous presidents in
United States history combined.

As you may know, Chairman of the Senate Committee on the
Judiciary Arlen Specter recently held a hearing on the use of
presidential signing statements. No further legislative action has
been taken since, though I will keep your thoughts in mind as this
issue develops.

Thank you again for contacting me. A responsive government will
only remain responsive with the input of concerned citizens, and I
encourage you to continue sharing your thoughts and ideas.

Sincerely,

Ben Nelson
U.S. Senator

Clinton was way to progressive for them. Dole won that state by %20 or something.

Don't let insecure little pissants bother you. The letter would have pissed me off too.

Mostly, politicians (like doctors) want you to get the f*ck out of their office. (More time for groping interns, I guess.)

15. Grammar, spelling, and word usage are important to a lot of people.
They should be to you too if your interest is in communicating. However, if you just want to rant and let off steam, you're obviously free to do that. Your point seems to be that you don't care if serious people take you seriously.

On the spelling issue, please, please, please use the check spelling feature before you post. Sometimes this board starts to look like freeperville and you know how we make fun of them.

18. Correction of a correction
Edited on Wed Jul-12-06 07:57 PM by pnwmom
Since we are talking "asses" here, I think the word "that" is fine.

"Who" is a word that's specific to people, not to donkeys.

(But please don't anybody correct me if an ass is not a donkey.)

It wasn't a word. Sorry. You came late to the show. I pointed out that his OP didn't make sense.. And yes.. "that" is probably a better suggestion than "who". He had a non word in there to begin with. Just to be clear.

OP had a word in there..that wasn't that or who or anything in the english language. It was a typo. Obviously. I just asked him to mind it.. and he did. This is so over. It was a typo.

that I was pointing out was the typo.

Sorry you missed it. It was a very quick "fyi" to an OP with a typo. "That" is a very fine correction.

17. If Lieberman is your standard, then there are about 12 others...
That you should say goodbye to.

Ben Nelson (D-NE), Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Blanche Lincoln (D-AR), Mark Pryor (D-AR), Tom Carper (D-DE), Bill Nelson (D-FL), Max Baucus (D-MT), Kent Conrad (D-ND), and Robert Byrd (D-WV) are all more conservative than Joe Lieberman. If Lieberman is too conservative for the Democratic Party, then so are these Senators. Get ready for a 35-65 majority in the Senate, which means that the Republicans have filibuster-proof control, and are only two votes short of a 2/3rds supermajority needed to pass Constitutional Amendments and other votes.

Then so are these Senators. If we're preparing to excise Lieberman and Nelson from the party, then they should be on the list as well.

21. He's answered others. But it's always the same letter. Always. The
particular subject of the letter is just changed around to fit the circumstances. It is always an acknowledgement that I wrote his worthless ass and then he goes on to justify why he thinks that letting the bush** administration get away the the particular criminal act that I'm writing about is just fine and dandy with him.

Maybe that's why I'm so angry. I have a stack of crap that's come from him in the mail. All form letters I'm sure, all weasly screwed up justifications of his quisling behavior. I should just quit, but I can't. He pisses me off too damn much. I have this lemming-like compulsion to keep writing just to let him know that at least I'm not as damn stupid as the schmucks who run the damn democratic party here in
E-I-E-I-O-ville.

and what is objectional about this letter?

he doesn't support Bush in this... He doesn't really say much of anything. In one of the few states where Bush still has a positive approval rating, it's smart for him to sit on the fence. You LIVE in Nebraska, surely you're aware of just how conservative it is.
