You don't go catting with a limp pecker
Today I have more hope than I've had in a while.

I was absolutely amazed to hear John Bolton at the UN saying we should allow the Chinese to do diplomacy with North Korea.

I was amazed, just a few short weeks ago, when the Pentagon essentially slapped the White House upside their snarling head and said 'No' to any plans for Iran.

I was pleased, just a few months ago, when Il Dunce's numbers keep falling and falling. I remain pleased as they stay where they fell ... to backwash levels.

I am encouraged after reading fellow DU poster, JABBS' theory that 'cut and run' may already be dead and buried. (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x2716704)

The fact is .... George Bush has nothing. The larger Republican Party has but little more.

You know damned A-well we'd have shot the shit out of Iran if we could. But we have no military left. They squandered the best of it in a failed war. A war in which we will be **lucky** to get out with as much 'dignity' as we did in Viet Nam.

You know as sure as shit that Il Dunce ***really*** wants to go mano a mano with Il Kim. But he just can't. Hell, even his and St. Ronnie's vaunted Star Wars shit wasn't gunna be used against the missiles cuz he didn't want to demonstrate for all the world a monumental failure of an idiotic system.

The current issue of Time, with that hilarious cover of the big hat and the Little Boots is perhaps the most in-your-face critical mainstream comment yet.

So what does all this mean?

Well, apart from the tomcat reference in the thread title, it OUGHT to mean that we liberals are ascendant. It OUGHT to mean that our politicians start saying what they mean. It OUGHT to mean that the 'anti-war crowd' starts owning up to their heartfelt beliefs. It OUGHT to mean that our 06 candidates should start to **stand** for something other than a weak-assed, non-confrontational, wishy-washy, non-offensive posture on every fucking issue that's out there. It OUGHT to mean that now is the time to draw sharp contrasts between us and them.

It OUGHT to ....... but will it?

Come on, Dem candidates. Our peckers still work. And we WANT to use them. GodDAMN it, but I want a fight ........

3. The Bushes have long been allies with China and Chinese industrialists.
Edited on Mon Jul-10-06 05:11 PM by blm
They are part of the growing global fascism movement, and not one aspect of their alliance is for the diplomatic reasons any of us would prefer.

Poppy's deals in the 70s with Chinese industrialists helped the rise of WalMart and grew the Chinese economy while playing Americans for fools.

6. And we need to empower our candidates
Volunteer, donate, show politicians your approval when they do something good. Encourage them and help as you can.

They need all the boots on the ground that we can give them.

7. You're very right
Most on-the-ground stuff is necessarily local. Financial support should always be accompanied by a note saying *why* you made the donation. This cycle we've chosen to make our donations exactly that way.

11. Heya Hubs2Sparkly.. LOL (off-topic for one second).. but....
...the first thing I thought of when I saw your post title was an awesome minor-pro hockey player (Cory Pecker) who wreaks such havoc from the fans everytime the PA Announcer calls him for a penalty or announces that he scored.

PA Announcer: "Pecker in the box two minutes for roughing"

Poor guy > http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php3?pid=31806

The fans love him to death, but dammitall.. they just can't stop it with the chuckling when his name is called for whatever reason.

Anyway, he's not a "limp pecker".. he's an awesome player!!!!

A kazillion apologies for temorarily going off topic..
