Poll question: Will Granholm be able to retain her seat as Gov. against DeVos' Millions?
Edited on Tue Jun-27-06 06:23 PM by Bryan Buchan
Granholm launches new website to battle Dicky DeVos who is seeking her seat as Gov of Michigan. Dicky is a slimy neo-con and son of co-founder of Amway Corp. See http://www.bryanbuchan.com

Do you think Granholm has a chance against his millions?

1. The name is Granholm.
I think she will win, but she may actually have quite a battle.
Even some dems seem to have a "throw the bum out" attitude, they
are looking for someone to blame.

Most people I talk to DON'T EVEN KNOW HE'S THE AMWAY
SCAMMER. No lie.

3. Sadly, probably not
She is getting dumped on right AND left - Michigan's economy is in the dumpers, thanks to the myopic auto industry, with a cascading effect throughout the state.

I live in Michigan in the summer and hear everyone snipe at her - with no good reason.

They do not care that her opponent is an Amway fundie with personal money to burn and backing by the loony right - they just "want a change." She has been saddled with a state already put into arrears by Engler who thought he could borrow and spend enough to make him a VP choice by Dumbya back in 2000. There was no time to do serious rescue work upon the collapse of American auto industry. She even had the AUDACITY to try to get TOYOTA (the ENEMY here) to open a plant here to save jobs. Instead they went to Canada (wouldn't have to pay any health since goverment sponsored, among other factors.) ((And she is from Canada.))

That has sealed her fate among GM and Ford diehards. That, added to the simplistic sloganeering of the opposition plus their bottomless pocketbooks means she is in very serious trouble through no real fault of her own.

I really hope she pulls it out, but I fear she will not.

Thanks for the post - will send her a few bucks - I really like her, even though I cannot vote for her.

5. State Legislature
We need to take back the Michigan House and Senate first. She isn't the type to make compromises, and the Republican Congress isn't taking kindly to that. They are hanging her out to dry, and she isn't Veto-Shy.

6. DeVos + Mi. Gov't + laws in favor of Kent County = business
for Scamway, taxes that benefit Scamway, ports that favor Scamway, the elimination of the proposed Potowatomie casino in Allegan that would compete with Scamway's hotel/convention center businesses in Kent county, higher fees and user taxes for average citizens that will not so much as put a dent in the richies pockets, fewer bucks for the Detroit area, NO merit scholarships for students, public dollars for private Christian colleges and univerisites, elimination of research dollars in major universities for health projects that conflict with the DeVos Christian ethic, more restrictions on female reproduction, increase in immigrant employment to lower wages, and ....

probably a dicount if you're a Dutch descendent....and DeVos says, Let's ger er' done.

7. Anyone who DOESN'T vote for Granholm better love the policies of Bush
because that is what they will be getting with a DeVos win.
