Headline: CLOWN Accosts "Mystery" Important DC Democrat!!

Today we walked around DC (yes, in the rain) because my sisters, niece, and bro-in-law are in town for a family reunion, and they wanted to.

Suddenly, just outside the Russell Senate office building, Stinky says, "Look to the left -- blue suit!" There's a familiar-looking man with olive skin and dark eyes, with two other men waiting for a taxi.

My husband the Clown runs over (in his less-than-dignified wet shorts and t-shirt), takes the man's hand and shakes it with enthusiasm saying, "I just want to say -- Kick the shit out of 'em! And KEEP kicking the shit out of 'em! Kick the shit out of 'em every day!!"

The man smiled and replied, "We're sure trying!" Another man laughed, "Some of us don't need any egging on," referring to the man in the blue suit. Stinky sorta touched him on the back and said, "We appreciate it!" "Thanks!"

My sisters had been asking, "Who's that?" "John Podesta." ("Who's John Podesta?")

Stinky came back and said "That was Rahm Emanuel."

"Oh!" I said, feeling stupid. "I thought it was John Podesta!"

... Two blocks later...
Stinky: "Maybe it was John Podesta."
Me: "Well I thought so, but now I can't picture Rahm Emanuel in my mind, so it coulda been Rahm Emanuel."

...On the metro home...
Stinky: "Coulda been John Podesta."
Me: "Google it when we get home."

It WAS John Podesta afterall. Fortunately, Stinky never called him "Congressman Emanuel," and never specified the particular shit he was urging him to kick, so it didn't really matter in the end. (Except that neither of us will ever confuse the two again!)

The moral of the story: You can urge ANY Democrat to "Kick the shit out of 'em" and it'll fit!!

Recently, he also accosted Barbara Boxer to say, "You ROCK, Senator!!" She loved it.

In a restaurant soon after her defeat, he accosted Kathleen Kennedy Townsend saying, "I wish I could call you governor. I feel like I'm in Bizarro World, everything's gone crazy." (She said we ARE in Bizarro World and it is crazy.)

I always think, "Oh God, I hope he doesn't say something embarrassing," but afterwards I wish I could have been so bold! He says politicians like having a citizen shake their hand and give a word of appreciation.

(He's also "accosted" a tent of Vietnam Vets on Veteran's Day, in a very friendly manner, wearing a DU Kerry "Hero/Zero" shirt, which drew some odd glances!)

I heard a rumor that last May a woman DU'er ran into John Kerry by the Russell Building's "senators only" elevator. She exclaimed in spontaneous joy "I Love You, Sen. Kerry"! Thrilled him to no end.
