Troop drawdown in the fall to help GOPers get elected .... and then .....
... all hell (is made to) break loose, they say "we told you so" and they put more troops in and go back to Plan A - permanent US presence in Iraq and oil for the oil cronies. And a Middle East base for Rummy and his successors to play with.

Pure fantasy .... or is it?

1. They want to announce that as an October surprise
but I doubt it'll fly. Iraq is turning into a hellhole on steroids with every passing day. They won't be able to maintain a faux drawdown and then a rebuild. There will be rioting in the streets if there's even a suggestion of that. They just don't have the Iraqi forces (reliable ones) to maintain order in the interim.

2. I would tend to agree...
I think things are getting away from them. They've let slip the dogs of war and the damn things are chewing the hell out of the countryside.

3. Despite Rethug wishes, drawing down troops won't bring them votes..
They can try to (((spin))) it into some sort of "last throes of the war" bullshit again, but it won't mean jackshit if Americans are still dying for Bush's LIE.

What happens on the ground in Iraq is the one thing that KKKarl has no control over. ..And they've painted themselves into a corner with Iraq.

Now the best they can do is repackage the plans drafted by up by Democrats by claiming General Casey came up with it.

They are PATHETIC.

4. If Dems speak up and PREDICT they'll do this, they won't dare to.
If we had a Karl Rove, he would insist that every democrat go out of his/her way to predict that Bush will temporarily lower troop levels just long enough to get past the election. IOW, play with the lives of our troops in order to help the GOP avoid political losses.

Our side needs to anticipate them doing this and predict it, so they won't dare do it.

Their side has been using this tactic against us for DECADES now.

8. Reid addressed this very point today. I'm glad they're getting
"in front" of this tactic.

5. PMCs
I'm sure they'll make a big deal out of the drawdown. The MSM will also show the same 7,000 troops coming home everyday for weeks on end. What I'm wondering is if they intend to replace the troops with additional Private Military Contractors. Expensive: yes. But bush doesn't care about that if it could keep him from be subject to a House investigation. Ya know?
