My pitch to Howard Dean re: messaging
Edited on Sun Jun-25-06 03:31 AM by iconoclastNYC
Something like. "I'm Howard Dean, I'm helping the Democratic Party take back the country, and put it on a better course."

I'm Howard Dean. President of the Democratic National Committee. I'm frequently asked what is the Democratic Message for 2006?

1. Unite the Country
2. Open and adult conversation with the voters
3. Tell the truth
4. Raise the ethical bar
4. Change the course of the country
6. Defend the American family
5. Investigate the misdeeds of the Bush administration

The Democrats number one mission in 2006 is to unite the country. We're going to educate Democrats, Libratarians, and Paleoconservatives about the fake fear-based Republican scandal technique that the right-wing uses to motivate it's activist base: like gay marriage, and abortion and fear of terrorism.

We're going to talk pledge to throw away the corporate-PR play book. Corporate-speak talking points style propoganda is an insult to the American intelligence and the Democratic party hearby condones it. The Democratic party is going to open a conversation with the American voter in 2006. Listening and education between the party and the voters will strengthen mutual affinity and increase turnout in November.

The Democratic party recoginzes that the corporate media for to long has been the sole arbitar of "the truth". Democrats acknowledge that on many issues the conventional wisdom for so many on so many issues is at odds with the facts of the matter. The Democratic party thru it's new media holdings pledge to aggressively challenge convential wisdom and perpetuate a reality-based community journalism.

Further the Democratic party encourages univeral access to free or low-cost true high-speed broadband. A return to the fairness doctrine, roll back of media industry deeregulation including most parts of the 1996 Telecommunications act, massive increases for community and publicly owned media, and a sixteen-fold increase for art and humanities programs.

For far too long a festering wound has tragicaly draineds our countries lifeforce. bi-partisan corporate corruption in D.C. is bankrupting our country and enperils our democracy. Democrats propose that the only solution to corruption peddling in our nationals capital and our statecapitals is the full public financing of elections. Paying for clean government is a bargain for the American taxpayer.

about the real issues, the issues the corporate media ignores to such great profit, and our Government and elected officials conspiciously ignore.

We're goign to pledge to speak the American people like adults. We won't insult the American people with tired focus-tested talking points. We're going to have a conversation.

in 2006 we're going to talk about this laws this president has broken and the bad course his party has placed America on. Republican economic and trade policies are entennable for the survival of country. We need regime change in this country in November.

This president has establishes secret prisons, created a system of condoned torture, openly wiretapes american citizens without constitutional mandated judicial oversight. This is the clearest thing America has had to a criminal administration.

But the truth is you can't even call this an American administration.

The truth is that this country has been in a state of unnoticed constitutional crisis since 2000 when the Supreme Court intervened in a judicial coup d'etat of the Executive branch.

This presidents suspected crimes will not get a blind eye from the Democratic (insert number here) House of Representatives.

The statistically impossible election results will not be getting a blind eye either.

The crimes of the past are a very important topic for Democrats in 2006. But it is merly a seque to a discussion of the most issue that is really going to drive voters to the polls in November of 2006: The continued slow decline of the American middle class.

It is the Democrats wish that Corporate money exxert no influence on our vital political process. Therefore all Democratic members of the House and Senate have vowed to accept no corporate funds or favors in this cycle and all future cycles. The Democratic party commits itself to a neutral examination of the affect of corporate power on society.

Industry will no longer be allowed to buy our silence. Even the apperances of opportunity is a matter of concern.

The Democrat party will no longer repeat the mistakes of the past. We're going to talk about what matters to our members.
and the reasons for decline starting with the neutralization of the american labor movement, and continueing with the economic policies of Bush I, Reagan, and Bush II and with assists from Clinton.

The Democrats message to the American public is DNC: UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT.

The people are back in control in the 50 states and in Washington. The people's united Democratic party will take back the government in November, and set her on a better course, and protect the preserve the middle class American dream.

The Republican era of greed is good, profit's-first republican economic voodoo is over.

I'm Howard Dean spokesman of the Democratic party hear to tell you, come November you are going to get your civil rights rights to you, take your government back from the corporate sociopaths, investigate this administrations crimes, make you Proud to be a Democrat, and set American on a better course.

Thank you and God bless.
