Analogy to simplify "Net Neutrality."
Let's say you get your phone service from AT&T. And you have a friend who gets his phone service from Verizon. It's illegal for Verizon to tell you that it will make phone calls from your friend full-of-static unless you pay a fee.

Now let's say you have a website, and it's connected to the internet through AT&T. Some of your visitors connect to the internet with Verizon. It should be illegal for Verizon to say that it's going to cause your website to be slow for those visitors unless you pay a fee. This is callled "Net Neutrality."

Please tell Senators not to let website owners get shaken down.

4. Please call your Senators on Monday morning
and ask them to ban website discrimination.

They should vote for S. 2917, the Internet Freedom Preservation Act of 2006.

If you can't call, then use this form:

6. Or it will mean that our donations go to pay off ISPs.
Either way, we lose if Net Neutrality bill doens't pass.

Ask you Senators to vote for S. 2197, the "Internet Freedom Preservation Act of 2006."

10. another analogy
Your neighbor has a business. You have a business.

Your neighbor's business needs 2 incomming phone lines. Your business needs 20 incomming phone lines.

The phone company wants to charge you more for 20 lines than it charges your neighbor for 2 lines.
