Bush summoned Dems to WH, forcing cancellation of planned roll-out
Blitzer:...As we reported, Mr. Bush briefed congressional leaders just a short while ago, including the House minority leader, Nancy Pelosi. Nancy Pelosi and the Senate minority leader, Harry Reid, had scheduled an event today to discuss their legislative agenda this year, dubbed their New Direction for America, but the event was postponed.
...
BLITZER: You were with the president.

PELOSI: Yes.

BLITZER: Were you impressed? Were you encouraged? What's your reaction?

PELOSI: ...... I had hoped, when we went to the White House, that the president would have brought us some good news from Iraq, that there was reason to think that it's time for responsible redeployment of our troops....What the president said to us was, when I asked them, are they going to move on the constitution now?, he said, oh, they don't seem to be in a hurry to do that. I don't think we should insist that they do that.
<snip snip snip>
(T)he president's in a good mood and he's bouncing around, because he went to Iraq, and he came back, and he likes the people he met there. This is about the fact that we are losing lives. We are losing limbs. We are losing reputation. We are losing readiness. And we're losing dollars in a war that sees no end.

3. Since Karl's no longer distracted, we'll see a lot of this crap!
At least the House Dems (joined by Ron Paul and Walter Jones) were able to do their thing--with rope-tied hands! That was great!!!

9. I wonder if Iraq will ever get a constitution
Bush won't recommend one, that's for sure. There's less protection for Iraqi people now than under the old regime.

11. Hmmm... they look too cute not to be gay like the Teletubbies

so wolfie is Pat Robertson's curse on the ewoks ( I hear Pat has a special "in" with the big guy - no, not God... the other one! So much vile hatred has to be rewarded with a boon now and then )

7. It was the first leg of running the far right for office. And guess
who is footing the bill? Not the rich they have had their tax brake. It is what is left of the middle class. What does it cost to fly a President to Iraq?

8. I can't help but laugh at this.
How transparently based on polls the Dem strategy is (at least the title),
and how easily it was thwarted.

pathetic.

10. The little "Emperor" summoned the Democrats to his Chambers.......
 He's really feeling his codpiece this week. He was full of it at his Iraq Press Conference. Shooting off his mouth and doing his Frat Boy joking with the reporters. So full of it he disses a blind reporter and has to apologize.

You have to wonder that the P-Resident who had to travel with his "Pilly" the first year of his reign, now can hop all over the US and the Globe with NO PROBLEM...even when we are told his sleep routine is so rigid that he has to be in bed by 10:00 leaving his State Dinners early so that his sleep routine isn't disturbed.

Amazing.....

12. Misleading headline
The event has not been cancelled. It was postponed which means it will be happening. Saying it was cancelled implies that it will never happen and that the White House pulled a fast one on the Democrats.

14. Yep, fast one
Just like the "Real Security" rollout when he stretched his press conference so the Dems would get no coverage. Fuckers.

15. Elementary tricks can be trained in some lower-order animals.
But not all.

George W. Bush is in way over his head on foreign policy. Also on domestic policy.

Which about covers his presidency.
