themselves in the flag," so sayeth Wes Clark in his latest email to supporters.
Entitled, "Yesterday, we all won," Clark writes about the success of James Webb in Virginia:
Congratulations! Because of you, we are one step closer to a Democratic Congress. Jim Webb, a Vietnam veteran and the former Secretary of the Navy, won Tuesday's Democratic primary for Senate in Virginia. I strongly supported Jim because of his unquestioned credentials on national security and because he is the only candidate who can beat the Republican incumbent, George Allen.

If all it took were great qualifications to win a race, we'd all be better off. But it takes more than that. Jim won because people like you stood with him and gave him the resources he needed to wage his campaign. Small donations from thousands of people over the Internet paid for his ads and kept his campaign workers in the field.
This victory belongs to you, and you should be proud of what you have accomplished. Thank you.
Now it is time to look at the future.
There are over 60 Democrats like Jim running for Congress this year. They are veterans who are sick and tired of Democrats getting pushed around by Republicans on national security. They are fed up with Swift Boat tactics. They've had enough of Republicans who have never served wrapping themselves in the flag.
They're called the Fighting Democrats, and these veterans are the single best chance we have to retake Congress this year.
I wish more Dems would talk like this. :loveya:
