Goodbye & Good Luck
(You’ll need it)This is my last post for Dave’s View. I hate to discontinue commenting on the grave issues facing our country right now, but I feel it is time to just simply bag it and move on. I’ve had it. There are really three reasons for my decision to cease writing articles on the current state of affairs in this country:
Not enough people give a damn. Despite aggressive marketing, this site has mostly attracted spammers trying to lure visitors to their pathetic commercial websites. There are indeed a few very intelligent and loyal readers here, but for the most part, it is clear that America would much rather read about the latest rumor in the Nancy Holloway case than concern itself with the massive and fatal erosion of their country into a dictatorship, loss of international credibility and the absolute collapse of our economy.
We now have the best government money can buy. Both Democratic and Republican elected officials have now conclusively proven what we have all known for a long time – They are all on the take. Folks, there is no chance whatsoever that these poor excuses for Americans are capable or willing to do anything other than line their own pockets with money from big business and special interest lobbyists. They have sold out middle class America to multi-national corporations and third world countries and the worst is yet to come.
I don’t see it getting any better any time soon and I am tired of knocking my head against the wall with no results other than a sore head.
In short, we’re fucked. The level of corruption, incompetence, and a misguided, self-righteous Imperial agenda at the highest levels of our federal government has completely taken control in Washington, DC and the American electorate has let it happen. We have no one to blame but ourselves. I for one am disgusted and disheartened by the whole, miserable mess. Most disheartening of to me is the complete apathy of most Americans to anything other than their favorite TV programs, plasma TV and any new electronic gadget that is foisted on them. If it doesn’t fall within those areas, most people simply don’t care and will put up with anything their government can throw at them. Wars; American dying and being horribly maimed for no legitimate reason in an invented war; wholesale corruption at the highest levels; many families just two paychecks away from being homeless; no National Security of any kind; journalists and intellectuals being targeted for crimes against the state; questioning the government being called treason. I could go on, but I really don’t want to. I am tired. I am seriously thinking about leaving the U.S. for a year to clear my head out and to try to get some perspective on what is happening on these shores. Maybe I won’t come back. We shall see. One thing I do know is that this is not the America I grew up in and it is not the America I want to live in right now. Do you? If you think I am somehow wrong about any or all of what I have just said, please let me know. If you can bring 5000-10000 regular subscribers to this site, let me know. Other than that, auf wiedersehen and stay safe!
