Time for Kerry and Murtha to start the "draft dodger" talk
For the next week, everyday I want to hear Kerry and Murtha TRASH Bush, Cheney and Rove for being draft dodgers and chicken hawks.

*everyday*. I don't care if it"s "risky", or if the dems worry about looking bad. The election season is here. No more "high road", it simply doesn't work in this media climate.

8. It's as simple as this:
Kerry and Murtha need to call a combined press conference. In this televised press conference, they need to call Bush, Cheney and Rove cowards and draft dodgers. They need to tell the American people that they will no longer tolerate Bush goons trashing decorated veterans. They *need* to use the words "chicken", "cowards", "draft dodgers" , "wimps", and "lazy". I am not joking. These two need to innoculate all democrats ahead of this next election.

This needs to be DONE NOW, to head off the election garbage we all know is coming.

5. gee it would be a major shock if the dems started talking this way :-)
and I am all in favor of it. no more apologizing for being right would be a great thing to do as well.

too many dems act like they don't care if they win or not. not all, but too many.

i detested the slimy ads from the CA governor primary, but at least it looked like the candidates
would do what it takes to win. ugh

6. Kerry said this today: "Now, I understand fully that Iraq is not Vietnam.
"Now, I understand fully that Iraq is not Vietnam. After all, President Bush is even there today."

9. AMEN x INFINITY
Edited on Tue Jun-13-06 09:30 PM by tinfoil tiaras
These last few election seasons, Democrats have been letting Republicans get away with horrible assassinations on their characters. Normally, I'm a total pacifist, but this "war" (of words, whatever) is a necessary war (unlike one we are currently in *IRAQ*). Necessary to preserve the USA as a country, necessary to preserve the rights of every US citizen..you get my point.
We have all the ammo to attack the Freeptards with, we just need to use it.

Amen also, to what John Kerry said about El Chimpo in Cheif-o. Now if only he did that in 2004...

K&R x a million too!

10. It is time to come out swinging and with ideas. Our party has got to

start backing other Dem's and speaking up against Rove and the others. They need to counter Rove's charges of cut and run with the truth. Instead, we get Biden blowing off Kerry to promote his favorite person- himself and our former President agreeing with Bush and using the same old unproven reasoning for staying in Iraq longer than the end of this year. Reid has been saying for months he is meeting with party leaders to come up with an acceptable plan- well, Reid needs to grab something and run with it. There is not plan that all Dem's will agree on, but their are ways to get them to support something. I personally think Kerry's plan is a good one and should be embraced and discussed further here and elsewhere.

14. 'Bout Bloody Time
I too favor strength over tact. An extreme message will always play better because America's method of thinking is a black or white, up or down, good or evil ideology. Gray, which is reality mind you but that's not the point, gray NEVER plays well. We don't like gray.

In essence, it is about damn time we get rude. The more direct, unapologetic, and extreme we get, the better we will do.

16. I think it would be better for them to talk about Iraq
rather than name calling. These 2 men are doing a great job trying to push to get the soldiers home - this is real. Responding to name calling with name calling is Junior HIGH (or I guess it's called Middle School now).

They need people like us objecting to a slime like Rove defaming people with character, commitment and ability. Rather than demand Murtha and Kerry sink to Rove's level, they need to do what they are doing and have enough of us complain each time - until it backfires. Hate radio over the last couple of decades has suceeded in desensitizing this country. Now the hate mongers are not just on radio, but on cable TV. How desensitized are we? A veteran's wounds were mocked, a former Senate Majority leader claimed that though he still has scrapnel in his leg - he never bled, and delegates at a convention mocked a military medal given for injuries. Why wasn't there outrage?

We need to respond to these outrages in bulk - so we can maybe force some media people to stop and look and see what they have become. Rove is a political hack when he says things like this, we need to call him what he is.

18. WHy not do both?
Start out talking about the current situation, and then work in "Stayed home when it was their turn to fight", "chose to dodge the draft and now are talking like war heroes", "are talking tough now even though they were cowards 30 years ago".
