Luskin is lying, did you consider Fitzgerald may have sold this case out? Hmmm??? It is just as likely as Luskin lying. And it isn't as though Fitz is a partisan Dem! And then there is the thought what is Rove DIDN"T do it? Or Fitz doesn't have the evidence that he did? My guess is this has to do with Cheney but whatever. JMHO.

3. Probably. Otherwise he wouldn't be representing Rove.
Rove would get the best attorney possible.

4. That's Robert "Gold Bars" Luskin to you and me
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/week_2005_07_10.php#006045

<snip>

Yep, you heard that right. Luskin got paid more than $500,000 of his attorney's fees in gold bars from his client who was trying to appeal his conviction on charges that he laundered drug money through precious metals dealers. Who woulda thought that was drug money?

Luskin insisted that he "never have, and never would, knowingly accept a fee that was the proceeds of illegal activities."

But when federal prosecutors finally got a chance to depose Luskin and Saccoccia's other lawyers, they found that their lawyers' fees had come in forms "such as gold bars, cash that was dropped off at hotels and trunks of cars, and money transfers from Swiss bank accounts."

Eventually, in 1998, Luskin came to a settlement with the government in which he agreed to cough up $245,000 of the money he'd gotten from Saccoccia.

6. I don't think Luskin is lying -- I think he is spinning and overhyping

I have no idea what is going on w Karl Rove, but I don't take Luskin's word at face value ever.

See for example this:

9. how does it help Rove to fabricate a story about hearing from Fitz?
No one seems to explain how that helps reduce whatever legal jeopardy Rove would otherwise face. And, by the way, fwiw, Luskin's contributions have generally been to Democratic candidates (the only repub I could find he gave money to is Susan Collins).

12. A few weeks ago, DUers wanted to have Fitzgerald's babies
Now some are attacking him as a corrupt sellout because he didn't force a case he believed he couldn't sustain.

That's called guts and integrity. This guy's no Ken Starr.

13. "It is just as likely as Luskin lying."
Bullshit.

I'm one of the few that think lawyers are (generally) good guys, but Luskin is not.
