Party at the polls planned to drum up voter interest
WATERVILLE -- The League of Young Voters Education Fund will throw a party at the polls today in an effort to increase voter turnout and raise public awareness of current events.

The party will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the parking lot outside the American Legion post at 21 College Avenue, where voting for all seven wards is held.

The party will include live music by the band, The Dan Hudson Trio, free pizza, children's activities and a drawing for an iPod and other items from local businesses.

...

The Party at the Polls is part of a project based at the Institution for Social Policy Studies, a research group at Yale University, according to organizers.
