Laura Ingraham--Call the State Dept.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/harry-shearer/laura-ingrahamcall-the-_b_22417.html

It was just last night that conservative talk-radio host Laura Ingraham was on the O'Reilly show reiterating her complaint that the American public has been turned against the Iraq war by reporting that doesn't get out of the Green Zone, reporting that stands on hotel balconies describing IED's, reporting that doesn't get out to bases in-country and "talk to the troops".

"Do you think if more of the troops' stories were told, more Americans would believe that actually what's happening there is good? I actually think they would, Bill."

Ingraham's problem goes higher up than she thinks. Here, hidden in the usually inside-the-beltway light lifting of Al Kamen's "In the Loop" column in the WashPost, are excerpts of a cable sent by US Iraq Ambassador Zalmay Khalalizad to Condi Rice in early May. It makes media reports, by comparison, sound positively Pollyanna-ish. Maybe Laura should cable Zalmay to get out of whatever zone he's in....

1. Iraq has become so dangerous that the BBC is discussing withdrawal.
It is the bloodiest conflict for journalists ever. Perhaps Laura can lead the way in taking vox pops on the street in Baghdad.

I propose a new word: chickenhack.

4. And that's what she is.
I'd like to see her military record....or I'd like to see her STFU, whichever comes first.

Laura "Match.com" Ingraham is living proof positive that cancer does NOT make you a "good" person, or a "bad person"...simply a "person with cancer."

It's terrible that she suffered the ordeal of that disease.

She's a survivor, and she's still pissing her life in the wind.

THAT is a "tragedy."

:patriot:

5. a local talk radio host makes a great point...
He asks, if Iraq is in such great shape as they say, why aren't foxnews, and other admin-friendly news outlets, simply renting cars, and driving around Iraq reporting on all the "good things?" Not imbedded, no troops, no heavy security detail... just driving around like they were in Anytown, USA.
