Poll question: Which Elected Office Would You Most Like To Hold?
I won't lie, I would love to be a senator.

2. State Legislature for me
Senate or House, both pretty much the same in Washington State. I think I could do more good in Olympia dealing with relatively local issues than I would do in DC. Certainly, it would be far less stress.

5. I chose US Representative
Here in Kentucky's 1st district, Republicans rarely were sent to represent us in Washington. Ever since 1994, it has been awful seeing "Exxon" Eddie Whitfield "representing" us. Apparently, we are all just a bunch of rich, lobbyist, sell-outs to the special interests.

Democrats have tried to regain the seat since the '94 Midterms, but have yet been unable to do so.

Guess I'll have to remind all of the people here what we believe in, again.

Sadly, I won't be able to run until the 2012 election. I'll turn 25 that year.

6. I want to be Surgeon General...
... because I want to start a "Masturbation-based Abstinence Program."

Damn, I miss Jocelyn Elders, even though she ruined masturbation for me for weeks.

11. Actually, I just realized Surgeon General is appointed, not elected...
So I have to choose again, don't I?

Hmmm... I think I want to get elected to whatever state office is in charge of setting the Excise Tax rate on vehicles, so I can tax Hummers at a rate of $100,000 per year-- retroactive to their date of purchase-- and use the money to buy armor for our troops.

15. Mayor of Warren, MI
It's where I live, a suburb of Detroit, but it is also the 3rd largest city in Michigan. I actually like for the most part the public side of how the city is run, even if I don't really care for the current GOP mayor. City services are effective and the police come when you call them. They just built a beautiful new city hall and district court building, and are woring on a large, central library (we currently have neighborhood libraries, not suitable for college students and the like). My property taxes are among the lowest in the state, too.

My main criticism of the current Mayor is that he is a racist, and that he and some of the city council (this is bi-partisan, too) messed around with the fire department's pensions. My part of Warren is getting pretty diverse, population-wise, but I don't see any city employees of color around. Most of Warren is pretty much all white, but the neighborhoods south of 696 are pretty diverse.

An interesting thing about Warren is that there is absolutely no subsidized housing within the city (Section 8). The city specifically turned down federal funds for what were originally racist reasons and to encourage home ownership. In the long run, they were right to do so for the second reason-many Detroit neighborhoods were destroyed because of the lack of home owners and the surplus of renters.
