My answer: Open the books on all their crimes of the last 4 decades and trust the American people with the truth. I believe they will do the right thing once they KNOW the facts.

It's the Secrecy and Privilege factor that protectes BushInc. - Fight it.

1. Best option: Democrats taking back both houses of Congress.
Least best option: A giant meteor hitting the earth destroying all Republicans.

5. Except we HAD all houses in 1993 and BushInc became MORE POWERFUL
not less, and certainly was NOT exposed and permanently defrocked as we would prefer.

11. No - GOP takeover wouldn't have happened if Clinton had allowed the books
to be opened in 1993. Everything comes down to that one decision.

17. the power structure in the Democratic Party does not represent change
it represents continuing defense of the status quo

and continuing gains by corporations

and continuing class warfare to the benefit of the wealthy at the expense of everyone else on earth

3. You'd have to find a way to get the facts out to mainstream America.
The media sure isn't going to be cooperative, and if the Dems do it, it will just be stamped "political bias" and filed away.

I think the point is a good one, Americans need to know the horrendous facts, especially those of the last 6 years, but how do those facts get presented in a manner where they have impact? The Repug record speaks for itself, and it's a filthy one. No wonder they want to keep it hidden.

There are so many things that could turn America against the Repugs: the secret, closed-door Energy Policy written by the oil companies. With gas over $3/gallon in many places, this would certainly make an impact. Or another Fitz indictment. Another Dubai Ports scandal. Lord knows there are a lot to choose from, and probably a great many we don't know about.

10. You would have to find the facts first.
BushSr., Bush Jr., and all the president's men have done one of the most thorough jobs of "cleansing" and covering up records, boxing up and hiding documents, shredding documents, sealing documents for a hundred years, and so on, moreso than anyone in the history of the world.

Something as simple to prove as Bush being AWOL in 5the military turned out to be a nightmare to prove, and has left us feeling empty, because of their tactics. That is just one example out of scores of examples.

7. There is only one good way to bring it to a halt.
Truth is not enough. They control the truth.

Anybody being ruled by the Romanovs these days? No. They were effectively contained.

14. those who are aware must speak out and teach
we have a very serious problem ... it pervades all the other problems ... we have a very, very poorly informed electorate ...

yes, of course "opening the books" is necessary ... but, even absent that, many of us have understood for a long time that our government, for some one hundred years, has pursued illegitimate "global gains" ...

our leaders have completely abandoned their critical role as educators ... what do they say about bush's motives in Iraq? answer that and you'll see the problem all too clearly ...

even Democrats accept the argument that bush went into Iraq to benefit both Americans and Iraqis ... they'll agree there were lies and deceptions (aluminum tubes, yellowcake, mushroom clouds, etc) ... they won't speak the truth about his real motives ... that would be "un-American" ...

that's what it's going to take ... books or no books, we need to tell the people the truth ... the evidence is overwhelming and still they will NOT speak its name ...
