1. I wonder what Dems they're talking to
I don't know anyone who has Hillary as their first choice. If you took that poll here, Gore would blow her out of the water.

3. A poll that follows name recognition. What a surprise!
Wake me up when somebody who is not known to the whole country will be first. Then it may be meaningful. :sarcasm:

4. I think Hillary's numbers will fall
over time or atleast that is all I can hope. 30% doesn't really make her a shoe in. It looks like if Gore and Kerry supporters can unite on one candidate, there'd be more than enough to beat Hillary. While Kerry made an initial mistake in voting for the war resolution, he's been more steadfast in opposing his agenda (ever since '04). Gore has been a persistant critic over the last five years of this administration.

My main hope though, is she decides not to run. Also, Gore still seems undecided whether he wants to get into it or not. Until he makes it clear, these polls don't mean much. Also, I still think Feingold and Warner's lower numbers are due to low name recognition. In time those could rise too.

6. the right winged republicans are certainly hoping to set up Clinton
because they're working on ammo to knock her down.

Gore, Kerry, Edwards have previous experience in this that would only be a huge plus.

20. And this includes ALL voters - on Dem sites - which is to say
those people who are Democratic activists and WILL vote in a Democratic primary (not some voter who "likely" will vote in "some" primary) the top three favorites are STILL: Clark, Gore and Feingold.

So, this poll is garbage, imho.

remember, for the most part. Those and the wife of the former president.

41. I agree. Another interesting number from that page: Warner does worst vs H
Edited on Wed Jun-07-06 05:45 AM by 1932
And he does significantly worse (Hil gets 66% against him).

The number for Gore is suprisingly high. He benefits from his 8 years as VP and his connection to the Clinton name (which also appears to be helping Hillary). However, Kerry and Gore weren't in such different boats in terms of relative competitiveness, and therefore the nostalgia you'd think Democrats would have for their recent campaigns. Yet Gore gets more support than Kerry today.

Also interesting that Clark is that low. He was at about 20% in polls in December 2003, so he's lost a lot of people who once liked him. However, he got about 3.5% of the primary vote, so he's possibly on lost about 1/6th of the people who voted for him in the primary (but it might be lower if you adjust for people who liked him in the primary but vote for someone else for other reasons).

40. I don't know what Dems these idiots spoke to but my observation...........
.....is :patriot: Gore :patriot: would win the nomination by a landslide and he would slaughter the neocon/fundies at the polls too.:bounce:

I'm probably one of the few Dems who believe Clinton is smart as a whip and can take on any neocon/fundie anywhere. She's been there, done that one with the neocons. On the other hand, that does not mean she is Presidential material by a long shot. She needs to stay right where she is and keep battling them there right wing idiots.
