So ya think it's too early for 2008.....heh...
Source: http://www.politics1.com/p2008.htm (hyperlinks working here)

Presidency 2008

For the first time since 1928, both major parties will have open contests for the Presidential nomination without a sitting President or Vice President in the running. Politics1 presents a "first look" at those people being mentioned as possible, likely, speculative, or draft candidates for President in 2008.
(Note: I get a bunch of email telling me this is really only the first truly open contest since 1952 ... but then-VP Alben Barkley did in fact seek the Democratic Presidential nomination. He ended his serious run after labor refused to back him because they thought he was too old, but Barkley continued on as a regional "favorite son" candidate. Thus, Barkley did run in 1952 -- even if he found no success.)

1. One disappointment .........
Karen Kwiatkowski has had a great deal to say about the goings-on inside Rummy's five sided palace. I'm a little disappointed she's in the Libertarian category. Its my view that knocks down her creds a bit. I'd rather she had followed Collen Rowley's path.

2. Not familiar with your disappointment lady....
..but I do know that *other* parties better not wait til 2008 to trip the politics fantastic !

A little more pressure on the Repubs and Dems might be a good thing !? Now?

I'm especially interested in that Unity08 thang starting up now. They're looking for a viable candidate in '08.

Oh my !!

4. Here's a link to her Wiki entry .......

She's a retired AF Lt. Col, and a staunch anti-Iraq-Warrior. As an intelligence analyst in the lead up to the invasion, she was doing everything she could to get the truth out from Rummy's five sided palace. I'm pretty sure I recall that she was one of Sy Hersh's sources.

Here's a quote from her:

I witnessed neoconservative agenda bearers within OSP usurp measured and carefully considered assessments, and through suppression and distortion of intelligence analysis promulgate what were in fact falsehoods to both Congress and the executive office of the president.

Wikipedia has a good entry for her, here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karen_Kwiatkowski

7. I haven't looked into her politics... but quite frankly, after the likes
Edited on Sun Jun-04-06 08:37 PM by diamondsndust
of Arnold Schwartzenthingy, Jesse Ventura & Ronald Reagan, I'd be hard pressed to vote for any entertainer turned politician.. I prefer someone with experience and a track record. That's just me though... others may like it.

9. Fear Mike Huckabee
I saw him on television a little while back. Extremely telegenic, hiding the fact that he is firmly aligned with some of the religio-crazies of the Republican Party. Plus his profile has been raised of late because he lost a massive amount of weight and has now been campaigning with Bill Clinton to get sugary drinks and fast food removed from schools. If he wins the Republican nomination we are in big trouble.

10. Just a nitpick -- no such thing as a "former" General
You can say former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO, or you can say retired General. Or you can just call him General Clark. If you want to get technical, you can write "General Clark (ret.)"

They're called "retired" and not "former" for a reason -- they can technically be called back to active duty at any time, and keep the title General for the rest of their lives (just like Presidents -- that's why there's no Mr. Reagan, Mr. Clinton or Mr. Clark).

The only way you might get a "Former" General is if he's court-martialed, stripped of his rank and then kicked out of the army.
