Newday/AP: Senator Clinton to Show Emotional Campaign Video
Clinton to Show Emotional Campaign Video
By MARC HUMBERT
Associated Press Writer
May 27, 2006

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is getting her bid for a second term under way with a sometimes emotional 18-minute video that features praise from her husband and even some New Yorkers who opposed her candidacy six years ago.

"I didn't vote for her. I think I will this next election," says Tim Damon, owner of Damon Rods in Potsdam, N.Y., whose company's Web site shows former President Bush with a Damon fishing rod.

The video, previewed for The Associated Press, will be shown Wednesday at the state Democratic convention in Buffalo as the former first lady and potential 2008 presidential candidate marks the start of her re-election campaign.

While there is plenty of praise for Clinton in the video, there is no mention of her past in the White House or 2008....

***

This version of the Clinton story begins with a clip of then-presidential candidate George W. Bush proclaiming on July 14, 2000: "It's going to be quite a moment when the sitting vice president performs his last official duty and that is to swear in the new United States senator from New York, Rick Lazio." The little-known congressman from Long Island wound up losing to Clinton by 12 percentage points....

2. Much To Poor Bush's Chagrin........
This honest-to-god democrat is confused. There's a daily "outrage"-chorus protesting the war and Democrats s-e-e-m (?) genuinely upset about the debacle in Iraq . So how to reconcile that Hill & Bill --our own conservative leaders promote stepping up! the aggression and substantial increases beyond "Bush the Terrible's" proposed troop deployment? So why all the fuss?

Hill & Bill turned over many of the civil/human rights we fought for more than a century, to those --above the law with no respect for truth. By the time Bush took office the damage was done; *VERY MUCH to his chagrin no matter *what he does, Bush remains a pale right-wing shadow of our fake president and its not like he HASN'T been trying.

Real dictators if they're worth their salt are better identified by how much *slips under* the radar of an unsuspecting public. Dictators need! secrecy, and censorship --helped along, of course, by much intimidation and an elite media that keep their secrets from the public-- Check out your t.v. news, radio, web forums, any of the media-- what poor excuse for a "dictator" has his dirty laundry hanging everywhere and gets beat up every day by the media? And by the way, have *YOU learned much, if anything, about the *Clinton administration--and the aggressive right-wing transformation initiated in the 90s. Though he's widely called the most *Effective President **THEY ever had by the majority of Republicans-- democrats still have no clue about the sweeping reforms of the 90's. I mean, what have they shared with us-- other than all we didn't need to know about poor Monica's "tribute"........

Hill & Bill got tons & tons of corporate thank-you-bucks for the massive sellout of America and won't/don't/didn't/never did a thing for us! Either we quit wringing our hands and resign ourselves to life in a corporate dictatorship, *or get his DLC out of our party--and the sooner the better.

3. I'm not sure why she's showing this video, but she will win reelection!
I'm not much of a gambler, but anyone who thinks she's not going to win reelection as Senator in NY is just kidding themselves.

She really has done a goo job s Senator, so why are you beating up on her?

4. What does "doing a good job as senator" mean?
What significant legislation has she presented? How much better is the economy for upstate NY?

I would agree that she has been successful in marketing an image. More of a kaleidescope view that's different each time you look at it, much as George Stephanopoulus characterized Bill at the beginning of his first term.
