Ok...this cements it, Republicans are going down in 2006. Here's why...
Neighbor next door, very republican and very religious. Talking about our college age kids, events, neighborhood...you get the idea. These are good people, good citizens etc.

Take on current events re: War in Iraq, Social Security, taxes,

"They (Congressman) are all too old and they have all been in office too long. We don't need John McCain either, he's too old. We just need to get them all out of office, they keep spending money on things that don't matter to us and ignoring the things that do. We need some fresh ideas and somebody who will quit spending all this money on Halliburton and all the rest of the corporations that just keep this thing going. We won't be able to fix Iraq, there are just too many factions that keep fighting each other."

Believe me, if my neighbor will say this, its been on the minds of every republican in my area.

Heh,heh,heh.....;)

1. I have received W jokes via email from 2 relatives on different sides
of my family this week, both of whom I never expected to send anything like that. One, from a cousin on my Mom's side from Grand Rapids, MI (I have many family members living there), and the other from a nieces's hubby from my husband's side of the family.

Sounds like your neighbor has finally figured out his Republican party left him.

3.  A lot of "conservatives" are dissatisfied with Bush, but ...
There is a lot of dissatisfaction with Bush by many so-called "conservatives," more likely neo-cons who see the immigration issue as a big dividing point. But they'll listen to Rush and Hannity and all those idiots spin it with the usual "liberals are evil" crap and who'll tell 'em to vote Republican anyway as the lesser of two evils. GOPigs saying they're dissatisfied and doing something about it are two different things.

10. Actually her remarks were dissatisfaction with Congress in total
I know she and her husband voted for Bush but let her save face by not bringing the asshole up. Why? Because at this point its about issues, not the asshole.

6. There's a big difference
between being "dissapointed" in the BFEE, and thinking * is incompetent, and being outraged and thinking they're criminals. I'm not convinced yet that these people have crossed over and are looking into the light. They're still Conservatives; its just that things aren't going as they thought they would when made a pact with the devil.

7. I agree with you.
Some of these Fascists would vote for a Republican child molester if the alternative were a Democratic Saint. Their hatred is JUST that strong. They are not the ones we need to convince. We need to convince the 40% who are Independent Voters.

12. Hardline republicans define everyone opposed to them as
independents. That's a big mistake on their part. Can the DLC exploit that? Sure, but they won't cuz' they're stupid.

This, along with the Independents who don't know what they want will probably help steer them back into office where they can continue to steal the public blind.

15. I agree with what you say...
Someone needs to tell them that even the Republican middle class is leaving behind this "corporate welfare above the little guy" mindset now. Their heyday is over. They need to get with the idea that PEOPLE not corporations matter across the board now.

Thanks also to the poster of the OP for this vindication of what I've been feeling -- even Republicans are fed up with this current administration and their spending like drunken sailors and making all their old cronies rich.

supporting a PISS POOR President and his policies...his Power Grab, and his intent on fucking up the World to create CONFLICT.

Of which much Profit can be made by those involved...except for the men and women in uniform...

19. I'd still like to know what the jokes were!
The e mail jokes I and the other Liberals and Dems were sending around stopped coming a long, long time ago. We're too outraged, and the state of things under * has become too tragic. Again, are the "new" jokes about incompetence? Or criminality?
