If the Dems take control of the Senate
should we talk about "The Nuclear Option"

(or use it?)

(my opinion, no . . . on using it, yes on reminding the Republiconvicts of their support for it)

8. I'm with you on this...

And we should use the "nuclear option" to:

Close up ANWR for good
Do away with minimum prices on prescription drugs
Establish single-payer health care
Raise the minimum wage
Establish a fair income tax
Establish tax breaks for fuel-efficient cars
Establish tax breaks for alternative-energy R&D
...and a whole shitload of other concerns...

If the Rs bitch and moan, we'll tell them to shut-up and say we tried it "their way" and it failed. We can tell them they can vote for our legislation and continue the illusion of democracy, or they can STFU or we'll "nuclear optionize" them...

I didn't use to think this was the way to run a country; that "compromise" was essential in a democracy, but that's not necessarily true anymore. To paraphrase an old adage, "It's not whether you win or lose...it's whether you win, period."

7. IF, repeat, IF the Dems take either house, expect to hear the dull buzz of
paper shredders working all night long in the White House, Pentagon, and Foggy Bottom from November 8th to January 2nd. There will be a fury to destroy all subpoenable files that they don't want exposed. I don't even expect them to be terribly subtle about it.
